That brings us to the end of a relatively one sided contest with the Mumbai Indians brushing aside Royal Challengers Bengaluru quite comfortably in the end. For RCB it has been a similar tale again and nothing seems to be going right for them. Unless something dramatic happens, their dream of winning an IPL title will remain a dream. For Mumbai, they are back with a bang and the brand of cricket will give them a lot of confidence going forward. Jasprit Bumrah (Player of the Match): See I am very happy with the outcome but I won't say I was thinking about a fifer. Quickly observed the surface and everything went my way today with the catches sticking and the things falling in place. So in this format, it's anyways very harsh on the bowlers so you have to have all the skills. Come this situation I don't want to be one trick pony and this is where I have worked from the start. Very happy that I could use my variations. It's obviously tough but what I have done that whenever I have had a bad day I have gone back and watched videos that what has gone wrong. You are hoping for success but for me preparation is what gets you success. If you know how you react to pressure in training, you have the answers in the match. No not like that one trick pony. I do my research, you don't need to use all tricks on one day. You have to understand the game, you can't have ego in this format.

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians Captain) - Feels good and the way we won is quite impressive. Impact player rule has given us the opportunity to use the extra bowler. When someone is having a bad day, it gives us that cushion. When Rohit and Ishan gave us the platform, we decided to finish things early. We didn't really spoke about the same at the.halfway stage. I feel lucky and blessed to have Bumrah in my side. He does this time and again. He practices a lot and that's a reason for his success. It's always good to have Surya in our team and I have been an opposition captain to him as well., it's always hard to set the field for his shots. He always picks areas where so many batters find it difficult. Whatever the situation requires, last game I need to bat a bit different and the game scenario for this is different. I love to bat according to the situation

Suryakumar Yadav: it's always good to be back in Wankhede. When the tournament started I was mentally here only, physically in Bangalore. I mean coming at Wankhede when you are chasing 200 it's important to access if there is dew. The game was set by Ishan and Rohit. We knew we had to finish early for the net run rate. I try to play the field and practice these shots a lot. It's in my muscle memory. I think all the shots but definitely the slice over point that I enjoyed the most. I mean that's what we have asked him to do. The intent has been great from Ishan and he is enjoying the fruits from it. It's always good to have Jasprit in the side. I have never batted against him in the nets as he breaks my feet.

Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain) - It's a tough pill to swallow. It's a combination of two things - The dew made it harder and the Mumbai batters batted brilliantly to put the pressure on our bowlers. We thought the dew would come in and we have to score around 215 but 196 wasn't good enough. The ball is really wet and it's a only sport where the conditions will make an impact. We lost crucial wickets at crucial stages and the fluency wasn't there. (On Jasprit Bumrah) He's been the difference in the two innings. The variety and skill set he posses makes it hard to put pressure on him. He is been an incredible bowler. Lasith Malinga has been the best bowler for many overs but he has to taken over the reins now. From a batting perspective, we have to score 220 because we don't have weapons in our bowling. We need to find our creative ways in the bowling because it seems that we were always on the back foot after the end of five overs

The score of 196 was nowhere close to be enough despite a Dinesh Karthik onslaught as the Mumbai Indians made light work of it, racing away to the victory target in the 16th over. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma provided a blistering start before Suryakumar Yadav played an astonishing innings to take MI over the finish line. Haridk Pandya also has the finishing touches with Tilak Varma also joining in the fun.

The run chase started with Ishan Kishan taking his time in the first over but once he got a feel of the surface, he started going after the bowlers and kept smacking it all around the park. MI scored a whopping 72 runs in the powerplay with Ishan racing to a 23-ball fifty. Rohit Sharma didn't get enough balls to face in the powerplay but capitalised on whatever was available.

The carnage continued even post the powerplay and the RCB bowlers had no answer in front of the brutal power-hitting. Ishan Kishan was dismissed after a power-packed 67 off 34 deliveries which included 7 fours and 5 sixes. Rohit Sharma was also going well and continued playing his shot. Out came Suryakumar Yadav as the impact sub and he smashed the RCB bowlers to all corners. It was carnage on display as he raced away to a 17-ball half-century which is his fastest in IPL.

His knock was decorated with five fours and four sixes and once the innings was set off, the RCB bowlers looked clueless. Hardik Pandya also came out all guns blazing following the wicket of Rohit Sharma and came out with a real intent right from ball one. He remained unbeaten on 21 off 6 deliveries while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 16 off 10 deliveries. Mumbai eventually chased the target down in the 16th over with 27 deliveries to spare.

What an incredible shot from Hardik Pandya to end the match. This is a proper thrashing of Bengaluru infront of a packed Wankhede crowd. They have started to turn the wheels and we know what they can do once they are on a roll. It was a commanding performance with the bat and there was nothing the RCB bowlers could do infront of some of the best hitting you will ever see. The pitch was a belter and a score of 196 was nowhere close to being enough.

We witnessed some high-quality six-hitting from MI's top order batters to chase the difficult target with ease.
