WWE Survivor Series 2020: Predicting the 5 men on Team SmackDown

Survivor Series will feature some of the biggest Superstars in WWE today
Survivor Series will feature some of the biggest Superstars in WWE today

Survivor Series is one of the most exciting events on WWE's pay-per-view calendar. It allows fans to watch the Superstars of different brands take on each other in a battle of supremacy. Last year was the first time we saw WWE NXT participate in the event, and the lead-up to the show was made much better with the involvement of the third brand.

This year we will most likely watch RAW, SmackDown, and NXT compete against one another in several different matches. Champions of the three brands will compete against each other in Triple Threat Matches, while all three brands will form their strongest teams to take each other on.

NXT won the battle of supremacy during Survivor Series 2019. However, SmackDown seems to be in a good position this year as their roster seems very solid following the 2020 WWE Draft.

Roman Reigns is the Universal Champion of the brand, while Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, King Corbin, and Rey Mysterio are some of the top Superstars who are performing on the Blue brand. This shows that SmackDown is loaded with some of the best talent in the entire company today.

With that in mind, we will look at the five Superstars who could make it to the men’s SmackDown team for this year’s Survivor Series.

#5 Apollo Crews could be part of Team SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series

Let’s begin with the man who has had a very good year and appears to be looking for new opportunities to get ahead on the WWE SmackDown roster. Apollo Crews started the year competing in dark matches against Mustafa Ali on SmackDown and soon got into a rivalry with Sheamus.

Crews then moved to RAW following WrestleMania, where he started to get some big mid-card matches involving WWE United States Champion Andrade. Crews ended up winning his first title in WWE after beating El Idolo for the title.

He held the United States Championship for over three months before losing it to Bobby Lashley. As part of the 2020 WWE Draft in October, Crews was drafted back to SmackDown.

Crews is an excellent combination of explosive power and high-flying skills that brings a breath of fresh air to the entire SmackDown roster. His inclusion to Team SmackDown for Survivor Series will ensure that the Blue brand has an agile and smart worker in the ring who can surprise his opponent with his power.

Crews could bring some diversity to the team and will be a handy addition if given a chance by the SmackDown creatives to represent the brand at Survivor Series.

#4 Lars Sullivan could be part of Team SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series

If SmackDown is looking for a monster in their team at Survivor Series, then Lars Sullivan is the guy. ‘The Freak’ moved to SmackDown in the recent WWE Draft and will be looking to make a great impact on the Blue brand.

Lars is one man who can take down an entire team, and Team SmackDown will be looking for someone who could neutralize men like Keith Lee and Braun Strowman from RAW and Dexter Lumis from NXT.

WWE could add Lars to Team SmackDown for Survivor Series to either give The Freak a chance to eliminate multiple top Superstars from the match to leave a lasting impact, or lose his cool at his own teammates and destroy them before leaving them to fend for themselves.

The Survivor Series match could also be the perfect place to have Lars take his first pinfall on the main roster as we could see multiple top Superstars work together to take him out without denting his image.

In either case, Lars Sullivan could benefit a lot as the company is working hard on building him as The Freak, and such a big match can provide him with the perfect platform to launch himself as a major threat to the entire WWE roster.

#3 Kevin Owens could be part of Team SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series

Kevin Owens was part of Team RAW during last year’s Survivor Series. KO had made a surprise appearance at NXT TakeOver: WarGames a night earlier where he had appeared to help Tommaso Ciampa, Dominik Dijakovic, and Keith Lee defeat The Undisputed ERA.

Kevin Owens was traded to SmackDown as part of the 2020 WWE Draft, and he has already expressed his willingness to become a Tag Team Champion.

However, before he forms a partnership with someone to embark on a tag team run, we could see him become a part of Team SmackDown. Owens seems to have no current rivalries on SmackDown, and his experience could come in handy for the Blue brand, who won last year’s match under Roman Reigns’ leadership.

The former Universal Champion is a major Superstar who WWE will probably want to see feature in a match during Survivor Series. Keeping that in mind, KO could become a part of Team SmackDown, which will benefit both him and the brand.

#2 Seth Rollins could be part of Team SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series

Seth Rollins seemed to be the leader of Team RAW during last year’s Survivor Series, and he gave his best to win the match for his team. However, NXT’s Keith Lee eliminated him from the match to take out Team RAW from the equation.

The night after last year’s Survivor Series, Rollins showed signs of a heel turn and got into a rivalry with Kevin Owens that stretched on until WrestleMania 36. Known as The Messiah now, the Rollins has made his way to SmackDown following the 2020 WWE Draft.

Rollins is one of the most experienced and accomplished Superstars on the SmackDown roster, and he is someone who would be a great asset to their team. At Survivor Series, the Blue brand must ensure that The Messiah is a part of Team SmackDown.

Rollins is a big name who needs to be part of the event and the match to make it a big deal. As one of the most hated Superstars in WWE today, we could see him have some good spots with the babyfaces of RAW and NXT.

#1 Big E could lead Team SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series

A man who could become the leader of Team SmackDown for Survivor Series is someone who was just another tag team competitor just a few months ago. However, injuries to his two faction mates allowed him to go on a solo run that has seen the WWE Universe get behind him.

Big E is a powerhouse who has been doing great on SmackDown against some of its toughest competitors. While Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were injured, we saw Big E has a good rivalry with The Miz, John Morrison, and especially Sheamus.

Since then, fans have been rooting for Big E to enter a World Championship picture and win his first big one in the company. With Kingston and Woods moving to RAW following the 2020 WWE Draft, Big E is free to follow his dreams of becoming a top Champion.

SmackDown could pick Big E as their top team member to continue his push and give him a great run during the Survivor Series match to make him come across as someone who’s ready to go for the big leagues.

Big E should be part of Team SmackDown, and we could see him captain the team to make an even bigger impact at Survivor Series.
