WWE SmackDown Live Results 6th June 2017, Latest SmackDown Live winners and video highlights

WWE SmackDown Live came to us from Rochester. The show had the unveiling of the new Women’s Money In The Bank briefcase, as well as the first ever WWE match between Kevin Owens and Shinsuke Nakamura. Let’s get to the results.

Shane McMahon kicks off SmackDown Live

Shane McMahon kicked off SmackDown Live. We saw the SmackDown women’s division and James Ellsworth minus Naomi waiting in the ring for Shane. Shane went down and said he had a big announcement as he unveiled the women’s Money In The Bank briefcase.

Shane went on to start explaining how the match would work when Ellsworth interrupted and asked him to stop mansplaining. Naomi’s music hit soon after as she came out and told Shane how much she’d have loved to be in the MITB ladder match.

An unfamiliar theme song started playing as we got the debut if the ‘Ravishing Russian’ Lana. She came down to the ring and demanded to be put into the Money In The Bank ladder match when Naomi cut her off and asked her when she’d ever won a match. Lana replied that she could beat Naomi but Shane stopped her and told her that she’d have to earn a match with Naomi.

Lana stormed off as we headed to commercial.

Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Naomi vs Carmella, Natalya and Tamina

Natalya and Charlotte start us off with the ‘Queen of Harts’ taking control early. Natalya took Charlotte down with a shoulder tackle but Charlotte hit back with knife-edged chops before tagging Becky in. Becky connected with a double axehandle before hitting Natalya with a heel kick. Natalya tagged in Carmella.

Becky tried a number of pinning combinations on Carmella before hitting her with a flying forearm and followed it up with her springboard kick. At this point, Natalya took Becky down at ringside with the Discus Clothesline as we headed to commercial.

We came back from commercial to see Tamina in control of Becky. Tamina hasn’t always been the best worker so it’ll be interesting to see how she does in the MITB ladder match. Tamina took Becky down with a clothesline and tagged Natalya back in.

Becky rolled Nattie up as she was gloating but it was barely a 2-count. Natalya followed it up with a Falcon Arrow. Becky fought back with an enzeguiri but Natalya made the tag first as Carmella came in. Becky then tagged in Naomi who hit Carmella with a jawbreaker before hitting Tamina with repeated kicks followed by a springboard crossbody.

Charlotte came in at this point and Natalya and Tamina double-teamed her. Lana came out at this point and swept Naomi’s feet out from under her on the apron. When Naomi got up, Tamina hit her with a Superkick and pinned her.

We saw Mojo Rawley backstage with Shane. Mojo said he was disappointed not to be in the men’s MITB ladder match and demanded a big match, saying that he was the only one who’d beaten Jinder since his move to SmackDown.

Shane agreed and gave him a match against Jinder Mahal.

AJ Styles vs Dolph Ziggler

AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler faced off in their rematch from last week. The duo went back and forth as the match began before Dolph took control as we went for an early commercial break.

AJ had just hit a clothesline to take down Ziggler when we rejoined the action. Dolph tried to pin AJ by leveraging his feet against the rope but the referee spotted it. Dolph followed it up with a Famouser but this time AJ kicked out. Dolph went to the top rope and went for a tornado DDT but he missed and AJ hit back with a sunset flip.

Dolph tried to roll AJ Styles up but AJ somehow transitioned it into a Styles Clash to pin Dolph Ziggler.

Mojo Rawley vs Jinder Mahal

The match started soon after Jinder’s grand entrance.

Rawley started off strong, taking control early on. He hit Jinder with a shoulder tackle that sent Jinder crashing out of the ring. When Jinder got back in, one of the Singh brothers distracted Mojo while Jinder hit him with a massive boot to take control.

Mojo regrouped for a while but Mahal raked the eyes and sent Mojo crashing into the ringpost. Mahal followed it up with the Khallas to pin Mojo Rawley.ringpost. Mahal followed it up with the Khallas to pin Mojo Rawley.

Jinder cut a promo after the match, promising to beat Randy Orton in his hometown of St. Louis.

The New Day vs The Colons

New Day made their SmackDown in-ring debuts tonight.

The New Day started up strong and stayed in control for most of the match. Xavier Woods started us off but Big E soon got tagged in. The locked in dial abdominal stretches on The Colons as we headed to commercial.

New Day were still in control when we came back from commercial as we saw Woods hit a massive dropkick from the top rope before tagging in Big E. Big E hit Epico with three suplexes before landing the Big Splash. E then dumped Primo out of the ring before Woods and E hit the Midnight Hour on Epico for the win.

Kevin Owens vs Shinsuke Nakamura

This match was a dream match and a first time meeting between these two in the WWE. WWE should really have saved this match for a PPV but we got it early so we can’t complain.

Owens started off working on Nakamura’s left arm before Shinsuke kipped up and dodged Owens’ offence. He followed it up with a step-up enzeguiri as Owens rolled out to ringside.

We came back from commercial to see Owens hit Nakamura with a DDT which he followed up with a side-headlock. Nakamura broke free and hit back with a single legged dropkick and followed it up with a strike combo. He then hung Owens up in the corner and hit him with a running knee.

Owens regrouped and went for a superplex from the top rope but Nakamura knocked Owens off. Owens took Nakamura’s feet out from under him and hit him with a cannonball. Nakamura hit back with a spinning heel kick and followed It up with an Exploder Suplex. Nakamura followed it up with a Kinshasa to pin Owens clean.
