The 1207th episode of Monday Night Raw took place on July 11, 2016, at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. This is the penultimate episode of Monday Night Raw before the brand split.

The show kicked off with a battle royal to determine the no. 1 contender for the Intercontinental championship. 20 wrestlers including Alberto Del Rio, Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews took part in the battle royal. Darren Young walked out as the winner and earned the bragging rights to face The Miz for the IC title at WWE Battleground.

Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon had a backstage segment and were discussing Mr McMahon’s appearance on the show. Seth Rollins interrupted them and wanted to host his own show called The Rollins’ Report and got what he wanted. Tonight’s Rollins’ Report will have a featured video on Roman Reigns.

Randy Orton will be a part of Chris Jericho’s highlight reel at WWE Battleground.

Zack Ryder challenged Rusev backstage for the US title and was attacked by Sheamus. Sheamus beat Zack Ryder and Rusev came out to attack Zack and accepted his challenge.

Breezango defeated The Lucha Dragons.

Seth Rollins hosted the first episode of Rollins’ report. Earlier, Rollins promised a snippet of a one-on-one interview between him and Roman Reigns. Eventually, the video consisted of Rollins asking questions to Roman Reigns, who really appeared in snippets of other interviews. He went on to campaign for Reigns to be taken out of the triple threat match at Battleground.

Dean Ambrose interrupted and cut a great promo and said he is ready to face Seth one-on-one for the title anytime. Seth challenged him for the title on next week’s Raw.

Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship was made official for next week’s Raw.

Sami Zayn came out to commentate for Owens vs Cesaro, but he was removed from ringside by referees on Stephanie's orders. On his way out, Sami and Owens, who was making his way to the ring had a face-off and beat up each other before the referees restored peace.

Mr McMahon made his way to the arena and revealed that he came to reveal the SmackDown commissioner.

Kevin Owens beat Cesaro. After the match got over, Owens took Byron Saxton's mic and started to brag about himself before Sami Zayn attacked Owens from the crowd. Owens went into the ring after the referee calmed things down between Owens and Zayn. Eventually, Owens ended up going for a Cesaro Swing.

The club had a backstage interview with Renee Young and were highlighting the fact that John Cena was not in the arena to save Enzo and Cass, who are scheduled to face Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

The Social Outcasts made their way to the ring as Heath Slater took on Titus O’Neill. Titus defeated Slater.

Once again, Renee Young had a backstage interview. This time, it was the Boss Sasha Banks, who spoke about her match against Dana Brooke and Charlotte’s title.

Visuals of what happened when the New Day visited the Wyatt’s yard was shown. It was a brilliant segment which made the Wyatts look strong.

Enzo and Big Cass defeated Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows via disqualification. When the Club surrounded Enzo Amore to beat him up, John Cena’s music hit and the Cenation leader made his way to the ring and saved Enzo as Cena, along with his teammates at the Battleground, Enzo and Cass stood tall. Prior to the match, Styles said that Cena is not in Detroit and his appearance was a shocking surprise to the fans.

Sasha Banks beat Dana Brooke. Charlotte wants Sasha to beat Dana again to get a shot at her title. This match will take place on SmackDown.

Mr McMahon said he was disappointed that both Shane and Steph were complementing each other instead of one backstabbing the other. He also wanted both his children to convince him to be the new SmackDown commissioner.

Steph verbally attacked Shane and called him the only wolf inside the ring. On the other hand, Shane spoke about the change, the fans and had the fans’ backing. McMahon announced Shane as the new SmackDown commissioner and Steph as the only Raw commissioner. McMahon also wanted both Shane and Steph to announce their respective GMs to run the show on next week’s Raw.

The show ended with an altercation between Shane and Steph.
