What's the story?

'Woken' Matt Hardy is one of the most anticipated gimmicks the WWE has had in a while. It seems that even the WWE themselves are as excited about it as the WWE Universe is, based upon this video they posted on their Twitter of Matt Hardy's 'Woken' antics at a WWE live event.

In case you didn't know...

It didn't take the WWE long to pull the trigger on the 'Woken' version of 'Broken' Matt Hardy, after Anthem announced they were dropping the legal proceedings surrounding the gimmick.

Matt Hardy competed in a singles match against Bray Wyatt on a recent episode of Monday Night RAW and following a Sister Abigail-induced pinfall loss started having a 'breakdown' in the ring and throwing out 'delete' hand gestures.

The heart of the matter

The fact that Matt Hardy is being allowed to display the early moments of his 'woken' gimmick at house shows as well as on television, as well the fact that WWE are actively tweeting and promoting it clearly shows that a lot of weight is being put behind it.

Not to mention that Matt Hardy has been going all-in on the gimmick on his twitter account with a whole bunch of exciting 'Broken' related tweets.

What's next?

Matt Hardy has already indicated who his first target for 'deletion' will be, the very man who ignited the dormant power within Matt Hardy and caused him to be 'Woken', Bray Wyatt. So it's likely that Hardy and Wyatt will be a high profile feud going forward.

I was concerned that it had been too long since Matt Hardy's 'Broken' character was at the height of its popularity, but it seems that the WWE Universe has fully embraced and is completely on-board for Matt Hardy's 'Woken' transformation.
