WWE News: WWE issues statement on Hulk Hogan appearing at future WWE events

The WWE has reportedly issued a statement via PWInsider, addressing the ongoing rumors regarding Hulk Hogan returning to WWE soon.

Addressing Hogan’s appearance at the premiere of HBO Sports’ Andre The Giant documentary, the WWE noted that Hogan will not be appearing at any future WWE events.

In case you didn’t know…

Hulk Hogan is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time and helped the WWE breakthrough into the mainstream back in the 1980s.

Hogan also performed for several other promotions such as NJPW, WCW and TNA (now—Impact Wrestling). His 4th and final stint with the WWE lasted from 2014 until his firing in 2015.

The heart of the matter

One ought to note that Hulk Hogan was fired from the WWE owing to the surfacing of leaked tapes that showed him mouthing racist profanities—something which resulted in the WWE firing him immediately.

Nevertheless, it was recently confirmed that Hogan is indeed in talks for a WWE return, as the promotion plans on roping him in so as to help others learn from his mistakes.

Additionally, Hogan revealed to TMZ Sports that he won’t be appearing at WrestleMania 34, however, he could maybe return to WWE someday. Hogan is attending tonight’s Andre The Giant documentary premiere—an event in which the WWE is involved.

The WWE addressed his appearance at the aforementioned premiere; stating—

"Hulk Hogan is an important part of Andre the Giant's history, however, his appearance at tonight's HBO premiere of the documentary and his plans to help others learn from his mistakes does not mean WWE is rehiring him. Hogan is not scheduled to be at any upcoming WWE events."

What’s next?

The WWE’s WrestleMania 34 PPV takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 8th.

The vast majority of professional wrestling experts believe that Hulk Hogan could return to the WWE so as to replace Daniel Bryan as the General Manager of SmackDown Live.

Ever since his WWE firing, Hulk Hogan has been considerably vocal about having rectified some of his past mistakes.

Racism is a sensitive issue, and Hogan coming back to a global organization, after the comments he made, would require a ton of efforts to make things right.
