We're back with another edition of WWE News and Rumor Roundup. Today, we'll take a look at the reported plan originally in place for WrestleMania 37.

Meanwhile, what happened when a top superstar met her fan in a heartfelt moment? Not too long ago, Riddle spoke about the backstage reaction to his RK-Bro idea pitch.

A former WWE referee has given his prediction for Roman Reigns' next feud. Additionally, there's now a significant update on a SmackDown talent's in-ring return.

With that in mind, let's dive straight into the latest WWE News and Rumor Roundup:

#5 Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Edge wasn't the original WWE WrestleMania 37 plan

This year's WrestleMania event saw an excellent triple threat Universal Championship main event between Edge, Daniel Bryan, and Roman Reigns. The match - originally scheduled between Edge and Reigns - became a triple threat on the road to WWE's biggest pay-per-view of the year.

Bryan's inclusion in the contest was not part of the original backstage plans heading into WrestleMania 37, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has confirmed. This development took place despite backstage personnel knowing that his contract was expiring soon after the event.

Furthermore, Bryan's last WWE match against Roman Reigns on April 30 not only received critical acclaim, but it also led to people within the company praising the former for his professionalism.

With the current AEW star leaving WWE on good terms, the door is certainly open for him to return to Vince McMahon's company in the distant future.

#4 Becky Lynch meets emotional fan during meet and greet

Becky Lynch continues to be one of the biggest babyfaces in real life. She recently met a young girl during a meet and greet, who cried tears of joy upon coming across her idol.

Lynch consoled her as the two had a brief chat. She later signed an autograph and let the fangirl pose with the RAW Women's Championship for a picture.

WWE on FOX shared a clip of this heartfelt moment via Twitter, which you can check out below:

It's safe to say that Becky Lynch is one of the best examples of superstars who can effectively make people hate them on television but also be an inspiration to many fans across the world.

#3 Riddle's RK-Bro tag team pitch to WWE got laughed at initially

Randy Orton and Riddle's tag team stint has been one of the best parts of WWE RAW lately. However, when the latter originally pitched the idea for RK-Bro to the company, it elicited several laughs backstage.

During his recent appearance on Peter Rosenberg's Cheap Heat podcast, here's what Riddle had to say about the backstage reaction to his RK-Bro pitch:

“I mentioned it about a month or so before it actually happened. I mentioned it to some of the writers and some of the boys in the back. They all proceeded to laugh at me when I said, ‘How cool would RK-Bro be?’ Most of the things I do, I try to talk to the writing team and I try to talk to the camera crew," said Riddle.

Following this reaction, Riddle thought a potential tag team featuring him and Orton would never happen on WWE television. However, things changed a couple of weeks later when both superstars didn't have opponents to face.

"RK-Bro, I brought it up, wishful thinking and it got laughed at. I was like, 'Oh that will never happen.' A couple weeks later, Randy didn’t have an opponent and I didn’t have an opponent, and we made it happen,” said Riddle.

Thanks to how well the RK-Bro pairing resonated with fans, WWE made them the RAW Tag Team Champions at SummerSlam 2021.

#2 Jimmy Korderas thinks Drew McIntyre could face Roman Reigns soon

Following the WWE Draft, there are a few exciting possibilities for Roman Reigns' feuds, including a clash against Drew McIntyre.

Former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas appeared on a recent episode of The Wrestling Inc. Daily and stated that McIntyre could elevate Reigns without compromising his own momentum:

“Drew McIntyre could be next on the card, and there is a way to get Drew over without him going over against Roman Reigns, as well. I kind of feel sorry for Drew, in some respect, because he was pinned as ‘the guy’ last WrestleMania. But at the same time, now, maybe it’s his time to help elevate Reigns. I don’t know how you elevate Roman Reigns to the next level?" said Korderas.

Many expect Roman Reigns to face the WWE Champion at Survivor Series later this month. Moreover, it doesn't seem like Brock Lesnar's feud with The Tribal Chief is over, although rumors indicate that he could be away from weekly WWE programming until next year's Royal Rumble event.

So it will be interesting to see whether or not higher-ups can book a feud between McIntyre and Reigns anytime soon.

#1 Update on Sheamus' current WWE in-ring status

Sheamus has been out of action since September 27, as he underwent surgery again to fix a nose injury. He last fought Damian Priest on Monday Night RAW.

The Celtic Warrior will return to in-ring competition during the company's upcoming European tour. WWE UK's official Twitter account confirmed that Sheamus vs. Finn Balor will go down a few times from November 7-10 in England:

Sheamus got drafted to SmackDown not too long ago, where many exciting matchups await him.
