What's the story?

WWE Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss has revealed that she'd love to follow in the footsteps of The Rock, John Cena and Dave Batista and take Hollywood by storm in an interview with Hollywoodlife.

In case you didn't know...

The WWE has a history in modern times of producing some great actors. We've seen Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson go from strength to strength in the movie business cementing himself as a permanent fixture in the Fast and Furious franchise as well as giving fans a star turn in Moana, where he even lent his singing voice to the role.

John Cena has also broken out into the film industry, predominantly starring in comedy roles in films like Trainwreck. 'Sisters' and 'Daddy's Home'. Like the Rock, Cena is also trying his hand at animation with his performance in the upcoming film Ferdinand.

Finally, Dave 'Batista' Bautista Is fresh off a role in Bladerunner 2049, which is garnering critical acclaim everywhere. You can also see the former WWE villain as the hilarious good guy Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and as a villain once again in James Bond film Spectre.

Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss quickly became the first woman in WWE history to win both the SmackDown LIVE and Raw Women's championships.

The heart of the matter

Once Bliss is done with the squared circle, she could join Cena, The Rock and Batista in becoming a Hollywood star and swap wrestling tights for film-set lights.

She revealed that she'd love to pursue a serious acting career in an interview with Hollywoodlife, where she was asked if she'd like to head to Hollywood.

"Absolutely, I never realised until I came to the WWE that I love to act. I would love to at some point cross over and bring a mix of WWE fans and mainstream fans together. I would love do something like that – or have my own little talk show on the WWE Network! I would love to test the waters and see what happens.”

Not one to do things by halves, Bliss went on to suggest that there's a particular Oscar-nominated actor that she'd like to share the limelight with on the silver screen.

“That is a good question. I would love to work with Bradley Cooper, just to say that I worked with him. [laughs] I am a big fan.”

Coincidentally for Bliss, Bradley Cooper has reportedly been offered the role of Vince McMahon in a biopic of the WWE Chairman's life.

What next?

I don't think we have to worry about Alexa Bliss popping up in films anytime soon as she seems intent on keeping her position as the top dog in the women's division, with that Raw women's title around her waist.

Author's take

Whilst more and more ex WWE wrestlers seem to be transitioning from the ring to movies not a lot of them have been women, so it'll be good to see a female wrestler make it to the same dizzying heights as Batista or the Rock.

That being said I truly think Alexa is a superb wrestler and entertaining heel and I don't really want her to leave the WWE anytime soon.
