The feud between Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton was Kofi’s high point and a low point in his singles run. It showed us the potential of Kingston as a potential main event superstar, but the feud also showed us how much WWE would quit on him. Kofi had an incredible moment at Madison Square Garden destroying Orton in a brawl leading up to this event.

Team Kingston defeated Team Orton in the traditional elimination Survivor Series match. The way Kofi won the match showed just how much the fans believed in him. Kingston pinned both former World Champions Punk and Orton within a few seconds to make the miraculous comeback for his team. The match was extremely entertaining, but it was taken to the next level with Kofi’s incredible win.

Kofi Kingston certainly created a legacy of being one of the all-time great wrestlers in ladder matches. TLC 2010 featured Kingston facing off with fellow mid-carders Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger in a triple threat Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship. Ziggler and Kofi were involved in a long feud for the Intercontinental Championship and Swagger was added to the mix.

WWE did not give them too much time, but all three wrestlers made the most of their limited time. Kingston dazzled, as usual, using the ladders to showcase his impressive athleticism. Ziggler ended up winning the match, but Kofi was the most outstanding performer in the match. His ability to shine even in losing efforts is a huge reason for his success in WWE throughout the years. Even in losing efforts, Kingston did his best to leave a memorable performance.

Kofi Kingston’s time in the New Day has been the favorite chapter of his career. Many pundits and even wrestlers backstage like Big Show questioned Kingston putting his reputation on the line to team with unproven wrestlers Big E and Xavier Woods. All three guys were close friends that put their chemistry to use on the screen to create one of the greatest teams in WWE history.

The best tag match involving Kingston featured New Day successfully defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Lucha Dragons and The Usos in a Ladder match. These teams left it all in the ring and did the legacy of the tag team ladder match proud. This was one of the main matches to cement New Day as the top team in WWE, especially with Kingston delivering superb work as always.

#1 Kofi Kingston vs Chris Jericho (Night of Champions 2008)

One of the first major wins for Kofi Kingston came when he defeated Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship at Night of Champions 2008. This was not an advertised or heavily pushed match as it was added at the last minute. Jericho was involved in a personal feud with Shawn Michaels, but he was forced to defend the IC Title on the show with every championship on the line.

Kingston was selected as arguably the most popular rising mid-card face at the time. A great back and forth match would end when Michaels’ interference helped Kingston steal the win. Kofi would get a huge win while playing a role in a bigger storyline on the show. This match and win showed that Kingston could hang with a top star like Jericho and did a lot for his reputation.

There is a good chance Kofi will have a new match added to his top hits when he does face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. If Kingston wins, this will be a celebration for his long journey to the top and all these matches played a role in his progression to the rise of KofiMania.
