Tiffany Stratton arrives on WWE SmackDown

The WWE Universe is buzzing today after Tiffany Stratton was caught up in a social media controversy. New details have leaked from backstage on what Stratton's co-workers think really happened ahead of tonight's SmackDown.

The Blockbuster Blonde shared a fan-made video to Instagram Stories and there was a racially-motivated remark toward Jade Cargill. The clip shows Stratton hitting Cargill during the recent eight-woman tag match on SmackDown while audio from a rap battle with Shooney Da Rapper plays. There were claims that Stratton recorded the audio, but that is incorrect. The rapper herself confirmed that it was her voice, as seen below. The fan backlash was immediate as Stratton quickly deleted the post.

It's been reported that Stratton has no internal heat for what happened. The rumors have continued, but multiple sources have dismissed them as fake news, and Fightful Select reiterated that there's nothing to the rumors.

There's a feeling within WWE that Stratton likely shared the post without listening to the audio, and that's also a popular theory among some fans. This could mean the 25-year-old will not face any internal consequences. While the incident was discussed among senior figures in the company, WWE officials remain high on The Buff Barbie, and her push is expected to continue with no interruption.

There were some people in WWE who weren't really aware of what went down and had reached out to the media to try and get the details. Early on in the debacle, it was rumored that WWE pulled Stratton from tonight's SmackDown but then re-added her a short time later. This was later determined to be fake news, but this latest report mentions that she was "briefly un-advertised and re-advertised," but no additional details were provided.

Stratton is set to face Bianca Belair in a Queen of the Ring quarterfinal match on tonight's show. Cargill may be at ringside as she and Belair are the Women's Tag Team Champions. Jade vs. Nia Jax is the other QOTR match for tonight.

Rapper comments on controversy with WWE Superstar

Shooney Da Rapper is a pioneer in battle rap and now she's caught up in a social media controversy with WWE Superstar Tiffany Stratton.

Stratton shared a fan-made meme that included a racial remark aimed at Jade Cargill – an audio snippet of Shooney Da Rapper saying the remark was added to a clip of Stratton punching Cargill on SmackDown. The 25-year-old seemingly shared the video without listening to the audio first as she quickly deleted the post.

There were rumors on Stratton being the one in the audio, but Shooney later confirmed that this was her voice from a battle rap she had done in the past. The NYC native commented on the crazy situation and also shared another tweet with the rap battle footage used in the fan-made Tiffany meme.

"That’s crazy that wrestler that used my voice on her video got in trouble #tiffanystraton [woozy face emoji]," Shooney Da Rapper wrote about Tiffany Stratton.

Stratton is a favorite to win the Queen of the Ring Tournament later this month. She must defeat Bianca Belair in the quarterfinals on SmackDown tonight, then face the winner of Nia Jax vs. Jade Cargill.
