Chris Jericho has challenged Kenny Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12. The two have been feuding on Twitter recently, with many assuming that the Winnipeg natives were slowly building towards a match on Jericho's 2018 Cruise of Jericho.

Kenny Omega defended the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship at Power Struggle in a hard-fought match against Beretta, before daring anyone to come out and challenge him for the championship. There were no takers, however, leaving Omega and The Young Bucks disappointed in the ring.

Jericho told Omega that he wasn't the best wrestler in the world, an honour that Jericho believes still belongs to him. Jericho referred to himself as the 'Alpha' of professional wrestling, before proposing a match between the Alpha and the Omega of the sport.
