WWE legend had to fight for his life against Kurt Angle & Brock Lesnar, says Chavo Guerrero (Exclusive)

Chavo Guerrero had to remind his uncle about who he truly was
SmackDown was like the Wild West back in the day.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. recalled how things were on SmackDown with the likes of Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, among others. He revealed that a WWE legend had to fight for his life against the future Hall of Famers.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview, Chavo Guerrero Jr. was asked about WWE legend Eddie Guerrero and some stories from back in the day involving the likes of Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar.

Chavo revealed that he loved Eddie Guerrero's Black Tiger persona and revealed how he had to turn it up against the likes of Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and even Brock Lesnar:

"So many. I loved his Black Tiger stuff. I loved his Gringo Loco stuff for sure. But Black Tiger, and even when he and I were working together, even when he was doing his singles stuff, and he had a really hard match coming up against a Kurt Angle, a [Chris] Benoit or Brock Lesnar... I know it's entertainment but there's a lot of times in wrestling when we're fighting for our lives in that right." [1:44 to 2:15]

Chavo revealed how he even had to give Eddie pep talks, referencing his time in Japan:

"There were times when he would have to go, I'd have to pep talk him and say 'Black Tiger, brother. Today it's not Eddie, it's Black Tiger, lets go' and I would kind of have to get him into that Black Tiger mindset because of that Japanese strong style mindset. He'd have to hit hard but he also had to know that he was going to get hit hard as well. So that's a lot of time that I'd have to get him into that mode." [2:16 to 2:40]

Teddy Long says Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle had a real-life scuffle backstage

Things certainly got real and heated between some of the top stars of SmackDown back in the early to mid-2000s.

On an earlier episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long revealed what happened backstage between Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle:

"There's nothing bad you can say about Kurt. Kurt was the real deal, man. I can never forget the time when Kurt and Eddie were in the ring, and it got real stiff. And once they came back after the match, they continued backstage and we had to break them up. These two guys were the real deal," said Teddy Long.

Things have certainly changed a lot behind the scenes at SmackDown these days.
