Bayley recently reflected on the end of her run with the Damage CTRL faction on WWE SmackDown.

In July 2022, Bayley returned at SummerSlam after a year-long injury absence. She formed an all-female stable with former NXT talents Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. The trio were later joined by The Kabuki Warriors' Asuka and Kairi Sane before Bayley was kicked out of the group in February.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Bayley reacted to her Damage CTRL departure:

"Yeah, if you would have seen when they attacked me that day, I definitely saw it coming. It was a long time coming, I think. I feel now, looking back in hindsight, that they were just waiting for the right moment, and I think they thought I was a little dumber than I really am, you know?" [0:55 – 1:15]

Bayley also provided an update on how her long-time friend Charlotte Flair is faring after suffering a serious knee injury in December 2023.

Bayley expected her WWE allies to betray her

It had been teased for several weeks that the rest of Damage CTRL would turn against Bayley following her 2024 Women's Royal Rumble win. The 34-year-old overcame the odds and defeated her former stablemate IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL to capture the WWE Women's Championship.

Speaking in character, Bayley added that she knew her former allies would attack her eventually and that her experience helped to deal with her former stablemates.

"They thought they were outsmarting me, but I've been doing this a lot longer than they have at this level. I've had my shares of turns and all that stuff, so I had the experience and I saw it coming," said Bayley. [1:15 – 1:26]

Bayley also gave her honest opinion on three things Jade Cargill must do after becoming a full-time member of WWE's main roster.
