WWE creative team member Bruce Prichard has been friends with The Undertaker for many years. In a recent podcast episode, he explained why The Deadman's former opponent, Damien Demento, did not achieve more in the wrestling business.

Demento worked for WWE between October 1992 and October 1993. His most notable appearance came on the first episode of RAW on January 11, 1993. In the main event, he lost to The Undertaker in a match lasting two minutes and 24 seconds.

Prichard said on Something to Wrestle With that Demento lacked the in-ring skills to progress in WWE:

"[He] had a unique look and a unique gimmick, and, hey, we can do something with this. He had a great look, he really did, but that was kinda about it (…) For those of you watching on YouTube, you could see what he looked like, but then he took that stuff off and the bell rang, and that kinda explains all the rest of it." Demento, real name Phillip Theis, wrestled as Jonn Reinhart and Mondo Kleen before joining WWE. He became a sculptor after retiring as an in-ring competitor.

What happened when The Undertaker faced Damien Demento?

The RAW main event began with the deranged Demento talking to himself before standing face-to-face with his larger opponent in the middle of the ring.

Demento landed four punches before The Undertaker came back off the ropes and slammed his villainous opponent face-first into the ring canvas. From that moment on, The Deadman controlled most of the short bout.

The 2022 WWE Hall of Famer hit Demento with several classic moves, including Old School, before picking up the win with a Tombstone Piledriver.
