Liv Morgan shares recent injury ahead of WWE SmackDown

WWE Superstar Liv Morgan has shared a social media update revealing her recent injury ahead of the upcoming edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

The 29-year-old's most recent in-ring appearance was in the Battle Royal for the vacated Women's World Championship on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW. Liv Morgan put forth an incredible performance and made it to the last two before getting eliminated by Becky Lynch. She had also finished as a runner-up in the Women's Elimination Chamber and Women's Royal Rumble Match earlier this year.

Liv Morgan recently took to Instagram Stories to share a picture of herself revealing a black eye. The former Women's Money In The Bank Winner probably received a blow during the Battle Royal. However, there has been no confirmation as to what caused the facial injury.

Liv Morgan opens up about her reaction to a recent title change

WrestleMania XL featured title bouts for all the championships, barring the Women's Tag Team Championships. Of all the champions, only Rhea Ripley and Logan Paul were able to successfully defend their titles at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

In an interview with the Gorilla Position podcast, the former WWE SmackDown Women's Champion was asked which match or moment from The Show of Shows shocked her the most. Morgan stated that Gunther losing the Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn surprised her the most, making her jump out of her seat:

"I think it was Sami Zayn winning. I really do. I kind of, not that I didn't believe in Sami, but Gunther is just Gunther. I really didn't know how. I didn't know if he was going to be able to pull it off. I didn't think Gunther's reign was going to end necessarily, and that's nothing against Sami. He's just been on such an iconic historic run, the longest-reigning champion of this modern era with the IC Title. It's just I was surprised, and I jumped out of my seat. That was, kind of, the only thing that literally like made me pop out of my seat with excitement," she said.

Liv Morgan ambushed Rhea Ripley backstage on the RAW following WrestleMania XL, leading to The Eradicator sustaining a shoulder injury and vacating her title. Before the Battle Royal, she confronted Dominik Mysterio, teasing a potential angle with The Judgment Day member. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds in the absence of The Eradicator.
