RAW General Manager Adam Pearce broke his silence ahead of the WWE Draft tonight and commented on his strategy now that he is competing against SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.

The WWE Draft will begin tonight on SmackDown and a popular faction is favored to be the first overall pick. The promotion has shared a new video with Adam Pearce, and he opened up about his strategy heading into the draft.

Pearce noted that he had done a draft while picking for both brands, and his intention was to ensure the success of both shows.

"You know, it is interesting this year because this is the first year that I can remember where I am literally playing chess with somebody else. I've done this in the past, being in charge of both brands, it is a different animal. You are responsible for trying to balance out, and make sure that both products are as good as they can be for the masses, for the WWE Universe," he said.

Pearce noted that this year, he will be competing against SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, and it has changed his thought process heading into the draft tonight.

"So now, I'm competing with Nick [Aldis], we have the same goal in mind: we want to make our show "the A-show." My responsibility to the flaghship, to Monday Night RAW, is to uphold and stand with that history, with that heritage, for everything that Monday Night RAW stands for. To make sure that it carries forward into our future, into this new era, it is exciting, and it all starts tonight," he added.

Former WWE writer reveals interesting selection for the Draft

Wrestling legend Vince Russo has revealed that he would pick Tiffany Stratton during this year's WWE Draft.

Tiffany Stratton will be eligible to be selected by either Adam Pearce or Nick Aldis during Monday's edition of RAW. Speaking on Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo show, the veteran praised Stratton and claimed that the up-and-coming star would be a ratings draw moving forward.

"You know I'm all about the ratings, bro, and we gotta get ratings. I gotta beat Dr. Chris' behind, bro, head-to-head, so I'm going strictly for ratings, and based on what she wore on SmackDown last week, bro, I'm going number two, Tiffany Stratton. Based on her SmackDown outfit a week ago, ratings! Ratings, bro! That's a little surprise pick, but I am choosing her as my sole women's wrestler," he said. [From 03:50 - 04:29]
