5 WWE superstars who should not go to AEW

It goes without saying that AEW is taking the wrestling world by storm at the moment. The arrival of former main-event WWE superstars such as CM Punk and Bryan Danielson has caught the eye of many fans around the world, and made new AEW fans.

Fans now have a major alternative to WWE, and many wrestlers are finding their way there to perform. There have been other former WWE talent that have joined the ranks at AEW. Malakai Black, Miro, Christian Cage, Paul Wight and Andrade, are all re-born with Tony Khan's AEW.

That being said, here are five WWE superstars who should not be joining the ranks at AEW.

#5 Becky Lynch should not go to AEW

The Man has been coming around in WWE since making her in-ring debut in NXT back in June 2014. Becky Lynch has become one of WWE's biggest assets and is now primed to be one of WWE's greatest stars for years to come. She is currently a four-time SmackDown Women's Champion and one-time RAW Women's Champion.

The Irish native is universally loved by the WWE Universe, even when she tries to get on the wrong side of them. She adds a whole different dynamic to WWE television with her confident and outspoken nature. Becky is just on another level compared to the rest of the women's roster, and to the women's roster at AEW.

Following a hiatus due to pregnancy throughout 2020, Becky made her triumphant return at the SummerSlam pay-per-view in 2021. Lynch defeated Bianca Belair in a matter of seconds to capture her fourth SmackDown Women's Championship.

The Man spoke with the New York Daily News to discuss her return:

"I just did what an intelligent person would do. If you haven’t been wrestling in a long time, then you’ve been strategizing. You’ve been strategizing because you haven’t been in the ring with this person, so then you are going to do something different. You are going to catch them off guard. And now suddenly I’m the bad guy because I came back even better than ever? I don’t really understand this talk about me being a heel. I haven’t changed. I just got smarter," Becky Lynch said. For Big Time Becks, as she calls herself, a move to AEW would be intriguing, but her home, rightly so, is with WWE. The company has put their utmost trust in her, even granting her the honor of being in the main event of WrestleMania in 2019. It was the first-time a women's match had ever main-evented WWE's show of shows.

Becky spoke with Sun Sport about a conversation she had with Vince following her WrestleMania match in 2019, where she became Becky 2 Belts:

"We had a moment after WrestleMania where I said to him, 'I think I’m ‘The Man’ now, wouldn’t you say Vince? And he said, ‘Yep,’ and that was it. I think he used to call himself ‘The Man’, and I said, ‘No, I’m ‘The Man." Becky Lynch said (h/t Sun Sport)

WWE continues to push her as the superstar that she is, and she has cemented her position on the roster, with no sign of that changing. Her home is with Vince McMahon's company, with whom she has a tremendous relationship with.

It would take some time, no doubt, for her to build that same relationship in AEW. She's in a solid position with WWE now, so there's no reason to even consider a switch.

#4 Baron Corbin should not go to AEW

There's no doubt Baron Corbin would be universally booed out of the building if he was to ever join AEW. For Corbin, he has become one of WWE's most reliable talents, and always garners a reaction from the WWE Universe. No matter what role the former Lone Wolf is given, he runs with it and makes it work.

It's fair to say the former NXT graduate is a heat magnet, but his work in WWE is consistently stellar. He's earned the trust of everyone at WWE, even going as far as placing him in prominent roles (remember him getting beaten up by The Rock and Becky Lynch on the first SmackDown on FOX?)

If he was to join AEW, he wouldn't necessarily be treated with the same kind of trust that he has built in WWE. For Corbin, he could ultimately end up down the pecking order with the stacked roster AEW has built. Here's to more Happy Corbin in WWE!

#3 Charlotte Flair should not go to AEW

The Queen of WWE has won a total of fifteen championships in WWE. She is one of the most decorated superstars of all-time. Flair grew up in WWE, coming through the ranks of NXT under the guidance of Triple H. Initially, her father, Ric, was with her for the ride, but has recently parted ways with the company.

Many have speculated where Charlotte's future lies after her partner, Andrade, joined AEW and now her father is no longer with WWE. The Queen is adored by everyone at WWE, and has accomplished pretty much everything there is to accomplish.

She's so far built an incredible legacy that should undoubtedly continue with Vince McMahon's company.

#2 Edge should not go to AEW

The prospect of Edge joining AEW almost became a reality before he returned at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in 2019. It was even suggested that the WWE only cleared Edge to compete so he wouldn't join AEW.

Matt Hardy spoke with the MCW cast to suggest this was the case:

"That was one of those things too. I think if they [WWE] hadn’t have cleared Edge and let him wrestle, he was going to end up at AEW. So they kind of had to go, ‘Oh. If we don’t want him to go, we got to let him have his way," Matt Hardy said. (h/t Wrestling Headlines)

For Edge, though, his home is with WWE. He is a Hall of Famer and WWE Universe adores him. The company has now allowed him to compete and also compete with a reduced schedule. It's the perfect deal for The Rated R Superstar, and there's still plenty of dream matches to be had.

#1 Seth Rollins should not go to AEW

There's a lot of dream matches we'd love to see if Seth Rollins was to join AEW. The Drip King is pro-WWE and is firmly happy with the company. Rollins always goes to bat for WWE on social media, and let's it be known that WWE is the best wrestling company in the world.

If he was to join AEW, yes, there would be plenty of match-ups for him, but what's not to say he wouldn't get lost in the shuffle? The roster is stacked and this will no doubt hinder plenty of superstars' chances who want to compete at the top level.

Rollins has that with WWE and is considered a main-event player. There's simply no reason for him to move on.
