Roman Reigns vs Rowan

Let's take a look at 5 things we learned from WWE TV this week as the PPV draws closer.

#5 Rowan turned on Daniel Bryan

The alliance between Rowan and Daniel Bryan appears to be over, as the big man snapped on WWE SmackDown Live this week and laid waste to both Bryan and Rowan's WWE Clash of Champions opponent, Roman Reigns.

For weeks, Rowan has been a prime suspect in the ongoing saga of who has been attacking Roman Reigns, and after being physically humiliated by an angry Daniel Bryan on WWE TV, Rowan decided he had enough, and turned on his partner.

The brutal attack by Rowan concluded WWE SmackDown Live this week, and it will be interesting to see where Bryan's allegiance lies when Rowan faces Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions. It's worth noting that creative plans in WWE still call for Reigns to face Daniel Bryan after Clash of Champions, so it's likely Bryan will be involved in the Clash bout in some form.

#4 Ricochet possibly winning King of the Ring?

This week's episode of WWE Raw featured the continuation of the King of the Ring tournament, with Ricochet facing Samoa Joe in singles competition.

The bout ended in "controversy" when both Joe and Ricochet appeared to pin each other, and the referee ended up making the call that the bout ended in a draw. As a result, both Ricochet and Samoa Joe will advance in the tournament and will face Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat semifinals match on Raw next week.

Next week's show takes place at Madison Square Garden, and WWE is attempting to load up the big event with names such as Steve Austin, who will appear on Raw, and The Undertaker, who will appear the next night on SmackDown Live.

One of the reasons why WWE decided to go with the ending of Joe vs Ricochet on Raw this week is so the company can showcase Ricochet against two big heels in the match next week, as the former U.S. Champion continues his rise in WWE.

#3 Shelton Benjamin's brief push is over

Several weeks ago, Shelton Benjamin appeared to be on his way towards a new character or gimmick in WWE, as the company started airing odd vignettes featuring a mostly silent Benjamin.

The vignettes led fans to believe that Benjamin might be receiving some type of renewed push in WWE, as he has been mostly unused since he made his last return to the company.

Following the airing of the vignettes, Shelton Benjamin was announced for this year's King of the Ring tournament, making it look like his push might actually be happening.

All of that speculation appears to be over, however, as Benjamin was quickly eliminated from the King of the Ring tournament by his former partner Chad Gable, who advanced in the tournament this week with a major upset win over Andrade.

Also on SmackDown Live this week, Shelton Benjamin was quickly dispatched by Aleister Black, effectively ending any momentum Benjamin might have appeared to be accumulating.

#2 The Fiend looks to be in-line for a title shot

Bray Wyatt's Firefly Funhouse returned to WWE Raw this week, and during the episode of the show hosted by the former Wyatt Family member, fans learned several things about the future of both Wyatt and The Fiend.

It looks like Bray Wyatt might be finished wrestling as the Wyatt character, with The Fiend alter-ego replacing Wyatt when it comes to in-ring competition. For now, it looks like Bray Wyatt will be used as the host of Firefly Funhouse, with The Fiend taking over when it comes to in-ring responsibilities.

Having said that, Firefly Funhouse this week featured the return of The Boss, who is a makeshift Vince McMahon-esque puppet character. Wyatt apologized to The Boss for teasing a possible Universal title match at Hell in a Cell but noted he is making money, which is sure to please The Boss.

Following this week's Firefly Funhouse episode, it looks like rumors of Wyatt getting a title shot at next month's PPV are indeed true.

#1 Bayley and Banks are the new top force in WWE

Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Becky Lynch

WWE's Four Horsewomen - Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Charlotte Flair - are currently divided in WWE, as seen on TV this week.

When Sasha Banks made her surprise return to TV following SummerSlam last month, she was hellbent on destroying Becky Lynch and reclaiming the Raw Women's title. Banks' plan might come to fruition as she will face Lynch for the title at WWE Clash of Champions later this month.

But this week on Raw, Banks got some help in her battle against Becky Lynch, when Bayley shocked fans by turning on Lynch at the end of their main event tag team match, unleashing a relentless beatdown with a steel chair. The next night on WWE SmackDown Live, Banks and Bayley laid waste to Charlotte Flair, who will challenge Lynch at Clash of Champions, leaving Banks and Bayley a new top force in WWE.
