5 Possible Finishes for The Undertaker vs. Rusev at The Greatest Royal Rumble

When two such powerful forces collide, the possibilities are endless
When two such powerful forces collide, the possibilities are endless

Not long ago, WWE announced that The Undertaker would take on Rusev in a casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view. As fans of The Bulgarian Brute, we were thrilled at the huge opportunity he was getting. And then the match was changed. It turned out that The Undertaker would take on Chris Jericho in a casket match instead.

And now, the original match is back on. While there has been much speculation with regard to why the changes were made, this is the advertised match (for now). The Undertaker and Rusev will go head-on at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

In this article, we'll try and predict how this match may unfold. Here are five strong possibilities.

Leave us a comment and let us know if you believe any of them could transpire.

#5 Rusev wins the match clean

Even Rusev would be surprised if this actually happened
Even Rusev would be surprised if this actually happened

It is impossible to deny that Rusev is a superstar with a plethora of talent. It is impossible to deny just how over he is with the WWE Universe and how 'Rusev Day' has become a phenomenon. It is impossible to deny the fact that Rusev's fans have been waiting for a moment that's been long overdue. Could this possibly be his time?

Only a handful of WWE superstars have defeated The Undertaker clean. The Undertaker has been one of the most protected WWE superstars of all time. So much so that every time he loses a match, it's a very big deal.

If Rusev were to defeat the Dead Man and get the rub from him, it would elevate him right to the moon. Unfortunately, for this very same reason and how he's been booked thus far, we deem this the least likely of all the possibilities listed here.

#4 Aiden English helps Rusev win

When Simon Gotch and WWE decided to part ways, Aiden English's future seemed quite uncertain. It did seem for a while that he would get lost in the shuffle. Thankfully, he aligned himself with Rusev and 'Rusev Day' has become the hottest act in WWE. In addition to his deep voice, English also lends Rusev his fists.

While Rusev pinning The Undertaker all by himself may be a bit of a stretch, we can totally imagine English and Rusev teaming up to take The Dead Man out. The two of them could load him up into a casket for Rusev to secure a victory. And this could help Rusev rise the main roster rungs.

The numbers game is the only plausible scenario we can imagine where The Undertaker suffers a loss. Even if the contest were to be lopsided, it would be a pretty big win for the Bulgarian Brute.

#3 SAnitY helps Rusev win

What better way to make an instant impression?
What better way to make an instant impression?

We saw SAnitY being drafted to SmackDown Live as part of the Superstar Shake-Up. This ominous trio still has not shown up on WWE television yet. Maybe they will not make their main roster debut until the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view. This heel stable could unite to destroy The Undertaker and load him into a casket thereafter.

This would effectively spark off a feud between The Undertaker and SAnitY that lasts for a long time. Moreover, it would give Rusev a much-needed win and elevate him to brand new heights almost immediately.

#2 The Undertaker squashes Rusev

The Undertaker destroyed John Cena at WrestleMania 34. Yes, the same John Cena who is perhaps the greatest WWE superstar of the modern era. What chance does Rusev have by the same token? We can absolutely imagine The Undertaker delivering all his trademark spots and stuffing Rusev into a casket thereafter.

Unfortunately for fans of Rusev, it is very likely that The Undertaker will make short work of him. This will be an exhibition match for fans in Saudi Arabia, most of whom have never seen The Undertaker wrestle. We can imagine him enthralling fans with Old School, The Chokeslam and the Tombstone Piledriver.

It may not be all that bad for Rusev, honestly. Only a handful of superstars have had a chance to face The Undertaker from the current roster and Rusev will become one of the chosen few with this match.

#1 The Undertaker wins after a competitive match

The Undertaker is the ultimate team player and cares about the business quite significantly! We're certain that he knows of Rusev's popularity. We know that he may want to give Rusev a strong showing in front of the Saudi Arabia crowd. And therefore, their match may be competitive even if The Undertaker were going over.

The Undertaker probably realizes the value and equity of Rusev. He knows how precious Rusev can be as a long-term prospect. He may ensure that the Lion of Bulgaria gets a very strong showing indeed.

The Undertaker will, in all likelihood, win the match. Like we said before, fans in an international market will want to see the WWE legend stand tall.

Let us know what you thought of all the possibilities and which one you believe will most likely happen.
