Who is the best?
Who is the best?

This year has been pretty exceptional for the WWE, both in terms of wrestling as well as in terms of entertainment. The company has been successful in blending their content to cater to a widespread audience.

While superstars like Brock Lesnar continue to dominate the red brand, there is a revolution that is gradually altering the complexion of the business we all grew up loving.

Special mention to the superstars that have brought respect to the squared circle by delivering some of the most brilliant matches of the year, with Triple H's NXT proving their mettle once again.

Since we are going to focus on the high's of 2018, we have shortlisted five of the top superstars in the company today who have all the chances of becoming the Superstar of the Year.

So, without further ado, let's dive deep and rank the top 5 legitimate contenders for WWE Superstar of the Year.

#5 A.J. Styles

Has the Phenomenal One done enough?
Has the Phenomenal One done enough?

Despite being the single most phenomenal performer in the world, the former WWE Champion A.J. Styles has had a pretty average 2018.

While it started pretty hot for him with a dream battle with Shinsuke Nakamura, it all went downhill after the two failed to click on multiple occasions.

His feuds with Shinsuke Nakamura, Rusev, and Samoa Joe felt pretty flat, with his rivalry with the Destroyer being a more prolific feud for the WWE Championship.

There's no denying that the company is ascending him to the top of the business, but his remarkable championship reign failed to gravitate the attention of the fans.

Considering the value he brings to the squared circle, we can't wait to see what's next for the Phenomenal One in 2019, but 2018 has not been as 'phenomenal' for him as we think it would have been.

#4 Ronda Rousey

Despite the criticism she received initially when she made the transition to the world of professional wrestling, Ronda Rousey has run riot in the WWE.

There's no denying that she has brought legitimate attention to the women's division and her mainstream popularity is only ascending the reach of the business.

While she has been strongly protected in her feuds, her in-ring style has exceeded expectations, with the Rowdy One proving her mettle as a force to reckon with.

Considering that her rivalries with Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Nikki Bella have been pretty disappointing, her inclusion in the division has opened more gates for women.

Vince McMahon understands the credibility Rousey brings to the table and has efficiently utilized her services to build the entire division around her.

Since she is currently the red brand as the Women's Champion, her current animosity with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair could land her to the main event of WrestleMania 35.

#3 Drew Mcintyre

Is he getting the respect he deserves?
Is he getting the respect he deserves?

Another superstar who has made quite an impression this year is Drew Mcintyre. The former NXT Champion has become one of the most influential components of Monday Night Raw in no time flat.

Vince McMahon's adulation for Mcintyre has ascended him to the top of the wrestling world today, with the Scottish Terminator hijacking the spotlight every single week.

While he has not held any individual championship on Raw, he certainly looks determined to dethrone the Beast Incarnate for the Universal Championship.

A time where Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman were ruling the red brand, Mcintyre's arrival has definitely altered the landscape of Monday nights, with the creative team focusing more on Drew's road to the top.

His influential role in breaking the Shield, his collision with Braun Strowman, his annihilation of Kurt Angle, and his constant threatening promos have been a joy to watch on screen.

If Vince McMahon's ideology is anything to take into consideration, the Scottish Terminator is not far away from being the next Universal Champion.

#2 Seth Rollins

Will he become the Greatest of all time?
Will he become the Greatest of all time?

While this might come as a personal opinion, I definitely believe that Seth Rollins has all the credentials in the world to become one of the greatest that ever lived.

His performances as the Intercontinental Champion have been riveting and have brought him respect and adulation.

There are times when he's the only thing that stands out on Monday Night Raw, with his terrific Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge giving fans what they deserve.

Despite the predictable booking diminishing the show's credibility, the Architect still remains one of the hottest acts in the business and has easily been the best male performer this year.

His feud with the Miz, Finn Balor, and Dolph Ziggler have received tremendous appraisal from the fans, and while his feud with Ambrose has not been satisfying as of late, it definitely would pick up pace before 2019 hits us.

#1 Becky Lynch

The Man is right here
The Man is right here

While we do appreciate the effort of other superstars who have tried to grab the brass ring this year, none of them has been as effective as Becky Lynch.

The Man carries a ruthless aggression that has taken WWE by storm, making her the most relentless performer in the business today.

Her meteoric rise to the top of the industry has made her a popular name, with Vince McMahon hugely impressed with her exceptional attitude.

There's no denying that the SmackDown Women's Champion has grabbed the brass ring with her incredible aggression, her in-ring performances have been top notch as well.

Her feud with Charlotte could possibly be the best women's feud of all time, with her current rivalry with Ronda Rousey on the verge of taking her to the main event spot at WrestleMania 35.

If attitude and in-ring skills are the legitimate parameters to judge a superstar's credibility, then it would be impossible for anyone to even come close to Becky Lynch.
