The WWE is a spectacle unlike anything else on earth, and not only do fans get to see incredible action in the ring, but there's so much more to see.

With SummerSlam being one of the biggest shows of the wrestling calendar, everyone involved wanted to make a good impression, with some Superstars even using cosplay, dressing in attires inspired by Pop Culture to give their time at the Biggest Party of the Summer some added value.

Here are 3 WWE Superstars who rocked cosplay for the matches during SummerSlam weekend.

#3 Johnny Gargano (Wolverine)

Johnny Gargano is no stranger to wearing Pop Culture themed attires, as it seems the first-ever NXT Triple Crown Champion has a passion for comic books. In the past, Gargano has worn attires based on several Marvel characters, including The Punisher, Iron Man and Captain Marvel, and this year's NXT TakeOver: Toronto was no different.

In the main event, Gargano wore an attire based on everybody's favorite mutant, Wolverine: a blue and yellow costume with the X-Man's iconic three slashes in it.

What's interesting is that any comic book fan worth their salt will know that Wolverine, AKA Logan, is Canadian, so it seems Gargano was representing the hometown boy in his costume.

Despite having the costume, Gargano lacked Wolverine's healing factor, as he came up short against the reigning NXT Champion Adam Cole, but did receive a standing ovation from the crowd and NXT General Manager William Regal, as it seems Johnny Wrestling's time in the developmental brand may have come to an end.

#2 Alexa Bliss (Buzz Lightyear)

Alexa Bliss showed her love for Disney on the SummerSlam kick-off show, when she wore a Buzz Lightyear themed attire in her Women's Tag Team Title Match.

If you follow Alexa Bliss on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other form of social media, you'll know that the petite powerhouse is crazy about Disney.

A fan of the iconic brand since she was a child, Bliss has often brought her love for Disney, and her love for Cosplay into her costumes as a Superstar.

Though she wasn't part of the main card of SummerSlam, Bliss and her tag team partner Nikki Cross were able to retain their newly captured WWE Women's Tag Team Championship on the kick-off show against the former champions, The IIconics.

What some fans will have noticed is that Bliss wore an attire designed around Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear, who appeared earlier this year in the fourth installment of the film franchise.

Channelling the Star Command leader, Bliss and Cross toyed with their opponents (pardon the pun!), before putting the Aussies away, as the former RAW and SmackDown Women's Champion pinned Peyton Royce whilst Cross kept Billie Kay from interfering at ringside.

#1 Ricochet (Nightwing)

With his incredible athleticism and ability to fly in the ring, former WWE United States Champion Ricochet has a lot in common with DC Comics Superhero Nightwing.

Born Dick Grayson, the young trapeze artist would become Robin the Boy Wonder after the death of his parents, before outgrowing Batman's shadow to become a hero of his own.

Much like Nightwing, Ricochet fought the odds in his incredible black and blue suit that looked like it came straight from the comic books.

Though dealing with AJ Styles, the man who took the star-spangled strep from Ricochet in the first place, was hard enough, the Aerial Assailant also had to deal with Gallows and Anderson.

Though the odds were against him, Ricochet used it to his advantage, at one point using the RAW Tag Team Champions as a launchpad to dive onto the Phenomenal One.

Though he was unable to regain the US Title from Styles, Ricochet gave an incredible performance at his first SummerSlam, one that Nightwing would certainly be proud of.
