The Adidas SL 76 came to the sneaker market in 1976 as the training shoes, during the Montreal Olympics. The nylon and velour upper were the notable flairs of the sneakers, ensuring maximum breathability, while the iconic three stripes adorned the sides.

The SL76 sneakers have been promoted with a campaign movie, featuring Sassen, Traylor, and many others, showing the long-distance running and lunges poses.

In an interview with Vogue, Wales Bonner said:

"For this collection, I was interested in running traditions in Ethiopia and Kenya. More specifically: the tranquility of the long-distance runner and how that might relate to my own artistic approach."

Completing the footwear lineup is the SL 76, a lesser-known gem from Adidas' archive. The SL 76 arrives in light blue and yellow variants, blending suede and mesh with black leather accents. On the upper, Wales Bonner adorned the breathable mesh at the center of the upper while the suede was placed at the mudguard and toe case.

On the monochromatic hue, the triple stripes of Adidas added contrast while the eye stays are designed with metals, creating the modish flairs to the sneakers. Two reimagined versions of the SL 76 sneaker make their debut. This retro runner boasts a sleek silhouette reminiscent of the SL 72 model, a design that Bonner has frequently explored in her collaborations with Adidas.

The sneaker is slated to be released on May 21, 2024, with a price tag of $180.
