Song Hye-kyo's upcoming film Dark Nuns delves into the story of two nuns

Dark Nuns, also known as The Nuns, Black Nuns, or Geomeun Sunyeodeul, is an upcoming supernatural and horror film starring Song Hye-kyo, Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Jin-wook, Heo Joon-ho, and Moon Woo-jin.

Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-been will be playing the characters of Sister Junia and Sister Michaela, respectively. The movie has been helmed by director Kwon Hyeok-jae, popular for films such as Count, Troubleshooter, and other projects.

The Full House actress shared the storyline of the upcoming film Dark Nuns with Harper's Bazaar Korea. She narrated how the drama would be about two nuns struggling to protect a child from an evil spirit.

"Dark Nuns’ (literal title) is a story about two nuns struggling to save a child possessed by an evil spirit. It is also a women’s film where women lead the narrative," Song Hye-kyo stated, as translated by Soompi.

She further disclosed the difficulties that lie in the post-production phase of films that require CGI. While playing her character, Sister Junia, the actress had to imagine the scenes where CGI would be implemented subsequently. She expressed her excitement to see the film after post-production concluded and commented, as translated by Soompi:

"For the occult genre, the post-production process is really important. Since I’m acting while imagining the parts where CGI will be inserted, I have high expectations for how the final product will turn out. It is challenging but quite enjoyable."

Meanwhile, the Descendants of the Sun actress also dished about the kind of facial expressions she made during the film, which she had never seen before. She also hinted that the character would be different from her past role as Moon Dong-eun, which she played in the smash Netflix series The Glory.

"It’s my first time undertaking this type of acting. It’s interesting to see different facial expressions that I’ve never seen before, which are different from Dong Eun’s," Song Hye-kyo shared, as translated by Soompi.

The Glory actress also confessed that using lighter makeup and minimalistic outfits makes her more fashionable as she's growing older, adding that an individual could never maintain vigorous energy throughout life.

Meanwhile, Lee Jin-wook, Heo Joon-ho, and Moon Woo-jin will chronicle the characters of Father Paolo, Father Andrea, and Hee Joon, respectively.
