Teddy Bridgewater steps in as QB during practice

Miami Northwestern High School's football practice session took an unexpected turn when Teddy Bridgewater, their new head coach, stepped in as quarterback. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, 31, played for 10 seasons in the NFL before retiring in February.

Fans reacted to the video of Bridgewater playing, posted by MLFootball, on X.

"He threw a TD finally!!" A fan tweeted.
"Very cool stuff," another fan tweeted.

Here is how other fans reacted to the news:

"I would hope he could cook a high school defense," a fan tweeted.
"That team has such an advantage with a coach like that," a fan tweeted.
"It just looks too easy. Can’t imagine NFL game speed," a fan tweeted.

Teddy Bridgewater has made his mark both in college and on the national level. He was the number one draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 but got sidelined due to a severe knee injury before the 2016 season.

Teddy Bridgewater then made a career-high 65 starts in the NFL besides the downturn he suffered. He put up an impressive 15,120 passing yards, scoring 75 touchdowns. He threw 47 interceptions to teams such as the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, among others.

Before football, Teddy Bridgewater was a star at Miami Northwestern Senior High School. He had 6,712 yards and 70 touchdowns in his 41-game career.

Teddy Bridgewater also got a chance to display his talent in Louisville. His efforts there earned him the Big East Rookie of the Year and Sugar Bowl MVP awards.

Miami Northwestern's football program requires new leadership following a 4-6 season and the departure of coach Michaelee Harris. And Teddy Bridgewater's leadership can be a significant boost for his alma mater.

Tyreek Hill watches former teammate Teddy Bridgewater shine in Miami Northwestern spring scrimmage

HC Teddy Bridgewater concluded his first spring practice period with a memorable scrimmage on Thursday night. And Tyreek Hill, Bridgewater's former teammate, was also there. He had come to support the players, marking a special moment between the two.

The five-time First-Team All-Pro wide receiver was the assistant coach for the evening, engaging with the young athletes to help them refine their skills.

During the scrimmage, Teddy Bridgewater, leading by example, took over at quarterback for a drive. In just three plays, he guided the offense to the end zone.

This fine presentation is reminiscent of Teddy Bridgewater's high school days. Then a senior at Miami Northwestern, he displayed excellent abilities despite suffering an MCL injury. Throughout that season, Bridgewater cast for 2,606 yards and 22 touchdowns. He ran for 223 yards and contributed eight more scores.

Despite the passage of time since his high school days, Teddy Bridgewater has seamlessly transitioned back into the role of a player-coach. His talent and passion for the game remain as strong as ever.
