Inderjeet Singh, India’s champion shot-putter, is preparing for the biggest event of his career – the 2016 Rio Olympics. Unfortunately though, ahead of this daunting challenge, he is facing a major crisis financially.

We at Sportskeeda are trying to play a small role in helping him achieve his dream of becoming the first Indian sportsperson from athletics to win an Olympic medal.

The 6-foot 4-inch Inderjeet has been in the form of his life in 2015, winning an astonishing eight gold medals and also creating several new records in the process. His latest win came at the World University Games last week, when he became the first Indian ever to win a medal in the Games.

But if on one hand he has been delivering unbelievable results on the field, on the other front, he has been facing incredibly demanding circumstances off the field.

Despite putting in consistently excellent performances, Inderjeet doesn't have a job in hand and, as a result, has found very difficult to purchase basic equipment that he needs to practise his sport. Even flying to different countries to participate in competitions has become a tough task.
