Supa Emcee, whose real name is Jimmie Brown, a Detroit-based rapper best known for his involvement in the 8 Mile single by Eminem and as a member of the Almighty Dreadnaughtz rap collective, was arrested for allegedly killing his wife, poet Kelly Mays, on January 7, 2024. Supa Emcee and Kelly Mays' troubled marriage

Supa Emcee and his wife were facing problems in their marriage before the tragic incident on January 7, 2024. In a statement to Fox 2 on January 11, 2024, Kelly Mays' father, Richard Mays, a retired police officer, elaborated on the couple's marriage troubles, stating:
