Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the longest-running television shows on HBO. Larry David plays an extravagant version of himself in the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy series, which parodies the writer/producer/comedian's made-up existence.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is filmed without a set screenplay; instead, the actors are given scene sketches and are free to improvise lines as they go to maintain a naturally flowing narrative.

Season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm will air on HBO and Max on February 4, 2024, at 10 p.m. ET, marking the formal end of the show. On April 7, 2024, the 10-episode season will conclude its long journey with a series finale.

Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12: 3 things we learned from the trailer for the series finale

Max released the trailer for season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm on January 11, 2024. Here are the top takeaways from the trailer for the final season of the series:

1) Larry David ends the season with his usual bickering energy

The trailer begins with the message "Larry is Back," and he is back as his usual self, angry at the world and being obnoxious with his comments.

The opening moments of the trailer show Larry trying to appear serious by asking Leon (J.B. Smoove) if he's ever observed how individuals look different in the mirror than they do in images. In addition, Larry is seen arguing that his breast implants look wonderful on him and later getting into a furious disagreement with Ted Danson. These scenes serve to assure viewers that Larry will continue to be the endearing, crazy mess he has been throughout the run of the popular comedy series.

2) Larry might have found his quirky version of love in the final season

By the end of season 11, Irma and Larry are a hesitant couple—that is, until Irma finds out that Larry stole her late grandfather's shoes from a Holocaust museum. Understandably distraught by this turn of events, Irma relapses into drinking after years of abstinence, misses the critical vote to overturn the law, and Larry continues to break the Los Angeles city code. The reason Larry and Irma seem a little odd to see each other again (as seen in the trailer), let alone have chemistry, is that they detest each other.

Larry first sought up a connection with Irma for a very “Larry David” reason. He wanted L.A. City Council to eliminate the regulation that mandates fences surrounding pools, and the only way he could imagine doing it was by wooing Irma Kostroski to influence her vote, even if he couldn’t stand her. However, the pair is seen bickering in the trailer, raising questions about whether this is Larry David's version of love.

3) The season finale features an ensemble cast

HBO unveiled the final season trailer on Thursday, and it features Larry arguing with his regular opponents, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Ted Danson, and of course Susie Essman, along with several special guests, such as Dan Levy, Vince Vaughn, Sean Hayes, and Tracey Ullman, who plays City Councilwoman Irma Kostroski once more. Jeff Garlin and J.B. Smoove, two series mainstays, are also back.

Throughout eleven seasons, Curb Your Enthusiasm has counted guest actors such as Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer, and Rosie O'Donnell as fictionalized versions of themselves.

Season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm is set to premiere on HBO and Max on February 4, 2024.
