Kyle Busch recently gave a realistic response to how the #8 team has fared so far in the 2024 season. Ever since the first few months of his Richard Childress Racing tenure, which began last season, Busch hasn't found his footing on a consistent level with his new team post JGR.

Busch, who came within seconds of winning at Atlanta, is maintaining a high level of self-awareness about his and his team's current standing in the season.

"It’s definitely not where we want to be, but I’m not shocked. We haven’t scored the finishes that we need. That’s what it boils down to. When you can get finishes, stage (points) the way that you need to, then you know you’re going to be alright,” he recently said as per Jayski.

Busch is optimistic about his future prospects in the upcoming Dover and Kansas races.

“These two places will be really good for us to get our footing back in the right direction and find a good, solid basis to land on in order to build into the summer,” he added.

Kevin Harvick shares his take on Kyle Busch's current season

With ten races into the regular season, Kyle Busch has scored one top 5 finish and a couple of finishes inside the top 10. Speaking about Busch's 2024 campaign, former driver Kevin Harvick revealed his thoughts on Busch at the start of the current season and his thoughts on the racer now.

"I think the first few weeks of the season I really looked at Kyle and I’m like, ‘Man they could have won, they could have won any of those races if things had gone well.’ Then all of a sudden the pit crew problems started and things have just completely unraveled," Harvick said.

It's worth mentioning that by this point last year, Kyle Busch had already won twice and he is winless so far this season.

But if there's any opportunity to turn his season around, it could come at Dover or Kansas. When it comes to Dover, Kyle Busch, with three wins to his name, is the driver with the second most wins among the active drivers. The current driver with the most wins at Dover is Martin Truex Jr. (4). As for Busch at Kansas, he has won twice on that racetrack, once in 2016 and then in 2021.

So, it'll be interesting to see how Busch fares in the upcoming races which are on racetracks where he's had success in the past.
