"What does the system say?" - Sean Strickland renews attacks on therapy as "the enemy of men" in latest social media tirade

Sean Strickland appears to have yet again taken aim at therapy, psychotherapy, to be specific. The former UFC middleweight champion has consistently opposed psychotherapy, particularly insinuating that men should steer clear of such traditionally prescribed forms of mental care.

'Tarzan' has now renewed his attacks against therapy, posting multiple tweets. The California-born athlete suggested that the founding fathers of the United States of America would've disagreed with modern-day men seeking therapy.

The 33-year-old's following tweet comes just days after his teammate, UFC middleweight Chris Curtis, tweeted that therapy for men ought to be normalized. While Curtis' tweet has seemingly been taken down, 'Tarzan' continues his opposition to therapy. Strickland tweeted:

"Therapy was designed by the system to make men weak... Don't be mad at the system that failed you "get therapy" that's the system trying to make you weak. Our founding fathers would of been sickened by what therapy has done to men."

Sean Strickland indicated that the powers that be utilize therapy as an instrument to subjugate men. He implied that if a person or their family is afflicted by a grave crime, one shouldn't call the authorities and instead retaliate against the criminal(s) themselves.

Strickland tweeted:

"Therapy is the enemy of men. Example let's say your wife gets r*ped. The only right answer is murder. But what does the system say? Call the cops. He will go to jail for a few years. If you're sad take pills, talk to a therapist. Violence is wrong. Therapy anti masculinity."

One netizen asked whether Sean Strickland feels women should go to therapy. 'Tarzan,' who will return to action against Paulo Costa at UFC 302 (June 1, 2024), issued an NSFW response.

Strickland claimed that he couldn't speak on that because he doesn't have female genitalia. Besides, he opined that men must head to an MMA gym rather than to therapy.

Former UFC fighter Jake Shields weighed in by writing that therapy is "for women and gays." 'Tarzan,' who's often made homophobic assertions, concurred by simply tweeting "Facts."

Sean Strickland recently disapproved of his girlfriend's therapy advice

Sean Strickland has been in a relationship with a woman for a number of months. In 2023, he even credited her for having a positive influence on his life. Nevertheless, earlier this month, Strickland disapprovingly tweeted that his girlfriend wanted him to seek therapy.

According to Strickland's girlfriend, he's always angry, doesn't trust anyone, and thinks everyone's out to harm him. 'Tarzan' has previously spoken about wanting to kill people, attributing that and his other mental struggles to his abusive relationship with his father and undesirable upbringing.
