Jamahal Hill recently weighed in on what he believes would transpire in an Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev bout and noted that the challenger would have an advantage.

Ankalaev is believed to be the next contender in line for a light heavyweight title shot after his impressive knockout win over Johnny Walker this past January. Hill recently challenged Pereira for his light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 300, so he knows firsthand what it's like to be in the octagon with him.

While speaking to MiddleEasy's James Lynch, the former UFC light heavyweight champion shared his thoughts on the threat that the Dagestani could pose to 'Poatan'. He mentioned that Ankalaev's fighting stance and grappling could be the difference maker and result in a new champion being crowned. Hill said:

"Magomed's [Ankalaev] stance is a problem for [Alex] Pereira. Pereira doesn't fight well against southpaws...Magomed also can come with a very grapple heavy approach, as well he picks decent shots and he is capable on the feet. I'd probably favor Magomed in that fight."

Jamahal Hill explains reason behind quick turnaround following UFC 300 loss

Jamahal Hill recently explained the reasoning behind his quick turnaround following his UFC 300 loss to Alex Pereira.

'Sweet Dreams' lost via first-round knockout, so many fans were surprised that he was cleared to compete at UFC 303, which is only two months away. He will be competing against Khalil Rountree in the co-main event, while Michael Chandler vs. Conor McGregor will serve as the main event.

During the aforementioned interview, Hill clarified that he wasn't knocked out and mentioned that he felt fine after the loss to Pereira. He said:

"I got hit with a good punch then I went down. I was defending and then I got hit with some good follow-up shots, and it kinda knocked my equilibrium off. I was not unconscious at no point."
