Rakesh Kumar lost 12 kg Weight for Star Sports Pro Kabaddi: Team Manager, Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates will play there second match of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi against Bengaluru Bulls today. They lost their first match against U Mumba on their home soil. Patna Pirates was at the 3rd place in the inaugural season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi.

The main concern of that match was pointless performance of Star Indian player of their team Rakesh Kumar. Rakesh Kumar could not get a single point in the all 10 raids he did during the match.

Team Manager of Patna Pirates Kartik Sansanwal spoke to SportsKeeda just before their match. He answered some questions related to the fitness of Rakesh Kumar and their plan for this match.

On the question related to the fitness of Rakesh Kumar he said that he never been that much fit before which he is now.

“Performance of one match does not matter. I think that the fitness level of Rakesh Kumar at its best. He was never been that much fit, which he is now. He lost 12 kg weight this time, so there is no question of fitness over him.” He said.

He also said that Patna defeated Bengaluru Bulls two times in previous 3 encounters. So, we will play at our level best.

“Previous 3 encounters with Bengaluru Bulls were very close. One we lost with a very narrow margin and rest two we won. We will continue that same winning streak against them.” He said.

He concluded with a promise that people will see a good match today. He said that team came to Kolkata with a positive mind frame and we left our defeat there in Mumbai.

“Team came to Kolkata with a positive mind frame. We left our memory of defeat there in Mumbai and took lots of positives with us from that match against U Mumba. We can’t just keep thinking about one defeat. I can say that people will see a good competitive match today here in Kolkata.” He concluded.
