The penultimate leg of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 concluded on Friday at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune with the Super-Playoffs scheduled to commence in the city of Mumbai from Monday.

There were quite a few players who came to the fore with their raiding prowess on point and were thus a treat to watch for the live and TV audience alike.

Thus, Sportskeeda lists down the five best raiders who lit up the kabaddi mat on fire in Pune:

#5 Deepak Hooda (Puneri Paltan)

The skipper of the home side, Deepak Hooda has established himself as one of the most trusted all-rounders since the inception of the league but this season, in particular, he has been performing majorly in the capacity of a frontline raider for the side.

He has been quite on point and this was evident with his 48 raid points off 6 matches in the home leg, when he spearheaded the attack of the side.

#2 Sukesh Hegde (Gujarat Fortunegiants)

Sukesh Hegde marked his return to the kabaddi mat post certain injury concerns with a rampant raid performance against the Puneri Paltan wherein he picked up a massive amount of 15 raid points. This included a monster six-point raid during a do-or-die situation which led to an all-out for the home side.

Hegde was on fire in that match and did not rely on just a single touch point but kept the scoreboard ticking in leaps by amassing points in heaps with quite a few Super-Raids.

#3 Ajay Thakur (Tamil Thalaivas)

The talismanic and tall captain of the Tamil Thalaivas may not have been able to inspire his team to give able performances in order to make it to the playoffs but he did manage to keep his fans happy with some stunning performances over the course of the last few matches.

He finished the season with six consecutive Super-10s, the last couple of which came forth in the Pune leg wherein he picked up 14 points each in the match against the Bengal Warriors and the defending champions, Patna Pirates.

#4 Pardeep Narwal (Patna Pirates)

The 'dubki' master as he is referred to displayed a plethora of skills in a losing cause against the Tamil Thalaivas but still managed to finish as the player with the most amount of raid points, 20 to be precise.

Narwal has been absolutely stellar over the entire duration of the fifth edition, guiding his team to the finish line majorly on the back of his own efforts and he rests atop the statistics table for most raid points in the season, 274 which includes a mammoth amount of 15 Super-10 innings.

#5 Rohit Kumar (Bengaluru Bulls)

The captain of the Bulls shattered a record that was just in the preceding week by Rishank Devadiga of amassing the most number of raid points in a single match. He picked up a massive amount of 30 raid points in the match against the UP Yoddhas, completely demolishing the defence with his attacking strides leaving them hapless.

Overall, he finished the Pune leg with a total of 51 raid points from just three matches and thus emerged as the most successful player in the last week.
