Kabaddi World Cup won, Back to the Auto Rickshaw

The Indian National Women’s Kabaddi team overcame days of hardship to record a thumping victory over Great Britain to win the much hyped Kabaddi World Cup ! but it was all for nought.

Soon after their victory, the eves were seen on the streets of Ludhiana waiting for auto rickshaw to reach home. The players who made the country proud were badly treated by their very own team management. They were not offered conveyance an the outcome was that most of them had to walk home.

This is after they spent a week in the same pair of clothes as they were burnt in a bus accident ahead of the final.

This comes just weeks after Ajay Maken granted crores of rupees in awards to various sports persons for their achievements. They say Indian sport is on the rise and India is shining, but incidents like this surely make that hard to notice.
