Last year’s champion of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi, Jaipur Pink Panthers, will play their first match today against last year’s finalist U Mumba. Both teams faced each other three times during last season, where both teams registered 1-1 victory and one game was a tie.
Ahead of their first match, SportsKeeda spoke to the coach of Jaipur Pink Panthers, Kasinathan Baskaran on the morning of the match day. He revealed that he was not worried about the game. Baskaran said, “We are ready to play against U Mumba. All the players are very cool and not in any pressure.”
Baskaran and the Jaipur Pink Panthers team are all set and they decided to go for the inaugural match of the tournament without a particular strategy. They are going to play their natural game and decide the strategy according to U Mumba’s game plan.
Baskaran said, “Our strategy will vary depending on time as well as opponents game. We will decide our strategy according to the game of U Mumba.”
Pro Kabaddi debuts for new players
Jaipur Pink Panthers foreign players also facing the same problems like other team players regarding the travel documents. Before yesterday, they had only one foreign player with them – Sanjay Shrestha from Nepal. Yesterday, two other players also arrived – Ahn Hwangi from Korea and Mohammad Maghoudlou from Iran.
He revealed that the Korean and Nepali will be in the team for the opening match.
“Ahn Hwangi from Korea and Mohammad from Iran arrived yesterday. We have Sanjay Shrestha from Nepal with us from a long time,” the coach continued. “According to rules we will play with two foreign players today. Sanjay Shrestha and Ahn Hwangi will be in the 12 member team today.”
Jaipur Pink Panthers have also integrated a few young players in squad. Two players from Haryana, raider Sonu Narwal and all-rounder Kuldeep Singh will, in all likelihood, play their debut game today. He said, “Sonu Narwal and Kuldeep Singh will play today.”
The inaugural match of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi Season 2 between Jaipur Pink Panther and U Mumba will be played at 8 pm today.
