Tiger Woods will return to Valhalla for the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship. Woods will tee off at 1:29 PM ET with Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley on Friday, 17 May at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

Woods scored 1 over 72 in the first round at Valhalla. Overall, he scored three birdies and four bogeys on the first day at the PGA Championship. Woods started slow and was 1-over par after three holes. He spoke about it in the post-round press conference.

Woods said (via PGA Tour):

"It took me probably three holes to get back into competitive flow again and get a feel for hitting the ball out there in competition, adrenaline, temperatures, green speeds. These are all things that normally I adjust to very quickly, and it just took me a few holes to get into it."

In his last Major, at the 2024 Masters, Woods had a similar first round where he scored 1-over 73. Woods was also asked if he could foresee the eventual condition of his body before games. Woods responded:

"I am getting stronger for sure ... Each day is a little bit different. Some days, it's better than others. It's just the way it is. My body is just that way. Some days, it feels great, and other days, a bit of a struggle."

Tiger Woods successfully made the cut at the 2024 Masters for a record 24th consecutive time. He will look to make successive cuts at the second Major of the year at Valhalla. When asked how he manages to make the cut in almost every tournament he plays, Woods said:

"You can't win a tournament unless you make the cut. That's the whole idea is get to the weekend so that you can participate and have a chance to win."

Woods won the 2000 PGA Championship over Bob May in a three-hole playoff which was also held at the same venue.
