Cam Smith scored an incredible par from the water on the first day of the 2024 PGA Championship. The second Major of the year is being held at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky from May 16 to 19.

Cam Smith's drive on the par-5 seventh hole landed just right of the fairway in a hazard, with the ball in shallow water. Smith decided to play the ball from hazard and didn't take a drop. He took off his shoes and socks and played the ball from the hazard.

Here's the video of Smith's even par from the hazard:

Smith, who now plays in LIV Golf, made solid contact from the hazard and safely got the ball back in play. Despite landing in the right rough after the approach shot from 243 yards, he chipped the ball to within seven feet of the hole and made the putt, resulting in a par.

At the time of the shot, Smith was tied in sixth position with 3-under par. He finished the round tied for sixth at 3-under par. He carded 68 with 3-under par in the first round. Smith was tied at T9 at 3:15 pm ET, with several players left to finish their rounds.

Xander Schauffele was at the top of the leaderboard after recording the lowest scores in a round at a Major, equalling Rickie Fowler (from the 2023 U.S. Open) and Branden Grace (from the 2017 British Open). Schauffele scored a bogey-free 62 with 9 under par and scored nine birdies in the first round.
