Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is coming to an end, and the upcoming season will usher in a new Chapter after a thrilling live event. Fans were initially caught off-guard with the announcement of Chapter 3 ending after just four seasons but are now excited about what's to come.

There are numerous possibilities with a new chapter. By the time the downtime ends, Fortnite will likely have undergone massive changes. This almost always includes a new or vastly different map.

Could this be the year that Epic Games brings back the game's old, beloved map? Fans have been speculating about the Chapter 4 map on social media, and it seems that they would love a nostalgic throwback.

Will Epic Games finally restore the old Fortnite map next chapter?

Players hope for the return of the old map in some capacity whenever a map change is on the horizon. However, that is becoming less likely as the game progresses.

Epic Games is constantly focusing on how they can take Fortnite into the future. It seems that they might not be particularly interested in showcasing the game's history. It is unlikely that the map with the original Pleasant Park, Lonely Lodge, Haunted Hills, and Polar Peak will be in the game ever again.

However, they have been bringing back elements of the old Fortnite map in small chunks. Epic Games has reintroduced POIs and and took inspiration from the general layout of the older map in recent seasons. Players may have to be satisfied with just that in the newer chapter too.

That is precisely what they did in Chapter 3. The bottom side of the Chapter 2 map, which was the Chapter 1 map flipped over, was the Chapter 3 map. The current map is, in essence, the old one.

As a result, the volcano, temple, Greasy Grove, Shifty Shafts, race track, and many other POIs or landmarks are almost exactly where they were on the old map.

While expecting the entire old map to return is probably a fool's errand, there is a strong possibility that they will bring back an old map in the same way for Chapter 4.

The island was flipped for Fortnite Chapter 3, so what is beneath the current island is the Chapter 2 map. It is highly likely that Epic Games will choose to repeat the pattern and flip the island over when Chapter 4 arrives. This would allow them to reintroduce Chapter 2 POIs like Sweaty Sands, Slurpy Swamp, and Craggy Cliffs, alongside new POIs.

To answer the question, it's unlikely that the map from Chapter 1 will ever return. The current map is as close as players will ever get to it, so you may as well enjoy it while it lasts before it's replaced and all Chapter 1 POIs are potentially removed.
