The Fortnite Chapter 4 map has brought many new locations to the popular video game. For the first time ever, Epic Games has brought a brand new island with no locations from the previous chapters.

However, shortly after the Fortnite Chapter 4 map was released, there were many posts regarding its size. Many players feel it's smaller than the Chapter 3 offering, but this isn't true.

Though its shape may make it seem like that, the Fortnite Chapter 4 map is the same size as previous in-game maps. It is located in the middle of nowhere, and some edges are visible for the first time ever. This makes it look remarkably different, which is why many players believe it to be much smaller.

Why some players are confused about the size of Fortnite Chapter 4's map

This tweet is one of the many posts that claim that the Fortnite Chapter 4 map is much smaller than the previous iteration. As you can see, the image creator simply put the two on top of each other and compared their sizes.

The image shows that the current island in the video game is smaller than the previous one. The southeast corner does not reach as far as the same corner of the Chapter 3 map. Furthermore, the current variant looks smaller on both east and west.

While the image above shows that the Chapter 4 map is smaller, this is not the case. The video below explains everything that's wrong with this comparison.

The biggest problem with the comparison image is that it only checks from north to south. In other words, the creator only compared the heights of the two maps, ignoring their widths. Understandably, these images of the Fortnite Chapter 4 map have attracted a lot of attention.

Many Fortnite players believe that the image is correct since they feel the map is smaller. However, they have this feeling mostly due to the island's edges. Since Epic Games has put edges on the Fortnite island for the first time, the map feels quite limited in scope.

In the past, the map looked infinite with all the water surrounding it. However, that is not the case in Chapter 4, as the island is surrounded by waterfalls and the abyss.

Chapter 4 map could possibly expand even further

During the "Fracture" live event, Fortnite Battle Royale players had the opportunity to witness the creation of the new map. The Zero Point, which communicated with The Paradigm, formed the new island thanks to the help of the loopers.

In the end, the Chapter 4 map was formed, and it looks amazing. However, there are still a lot of floating pieces around the main island, which is why there is a good chance that Epic Games will expand the land even further.

If the development team decides to release frequent map changes, we can expect the Zero Point to pull more pieces together in the future, expanding the island and creating new zones for players to explore.
