Fortnite Chapter 4 is here and has brought loopers into an entirely new island made of Zero Point fragments from different realities. With this chapter, Season 1 kicked off on an island where loopers received new weapons, saw some classic ones unvaulted, and were introduced to a new style of playing the game.

From the newly introduced Hurdle movement maneuver to revamped graphics in Unreal Engine 5.1, the community was heavily impressed by the amount of work the developers put into the current season, as Fortnite is now one of the best-looking games in the world.

However, something else brought the game to the attention of players who primarily play FPS games like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and Valorant, as they have started dropping into the loop and are testing their gaming prowess in Fortnite.

In the most recent season, Epic added Reality Augments to Fortnite, introducing a Class System in the game loopers have encountered in other FPS or Battle Royale games. At first, the community was unsure about how the new system would pan out and if it would positively change the gameplay.

After its introduction to the game, loopers were highly impressed by Augments in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 and had their views on the same.

"Augments are the best thing to happen to Fortnite," players react to Chapter 4 Season 1 class system

Ever since Augments appeared in the game, players have started getting creative with the combinations they get on every reroll and stage as they refresh. A Twitter user pointed out how Augments brought back OG Fortnite weapons without messing with the current loot pool and offering a fair chance to all players at a Victory Royale.

While some might use them to sprint faster or heal in the bushes, others are simply exploiting the newly introduced perks to redeploy their glider to prevent themselves from fall damage and being their team's eye in the sky by using Balloons and a Shockwave Hammer.

Players took to Twitter to praise the efforts of the developers in introducing a perk feature to the game that was also seen in Warzone that gamers disliked. However, one user pointed out how Augments have created a different character build or gameplay approach with every match for players, which is something unique.

Another user said that Augments were the best thing that has happened to Fortnite in a long time, ever since it was deemed as a "Dead Game" by the community a year ago. However, they also pointed out how the game was in dire need of such a system for quite some time, and now that it is here, it might make it one of the best Battle Royale games of all time.

Why is a class system created by Augments needed in Fortnite?

Loopers in Fortnite are known for two primary gameplay styles: either they are good at building structures, or they are good at shooting. Players used this classic strategy to focus on back in the OG days. Ever since the introduction of Zero Build in Chapter 3, players have widened their approach to their gameplay style and have created classes amongst their squad.

Players had to choose who was a rusher, sniper, driver, or spender (buying loot or hiring NPCs), a similar approach seen during Chapter 2 Season 2, The Agency, with loopers eliminating bosses to claim their mythic weapons and use them.

But that strategy felt ineffective when players of other Battle Royale games joined the loop with good aiming skills and fluid strategy. While the remainder of Chapter 3 felt unappealing, players were highly disappointed with the updates and the loot pool.

Introducing Augments has once again separated the player base into different classes, but this time it comes with real perks that loopers can have to support their teammates. While loopers are enjoying the current Augments, several leaks hinted at more perks arriving soon in Chapter 4.
