Fortnite has had several collaborations over the years and it doesn't appear they're slowing down any time soon. If it's a major brand, they either have or will eventually collaborate with Epic Games' battle royale title. The list includes some that might seem incredibly random like the NBA or Balenciaga.

One brand they haven't worked with yet with is Pokémon. One of the most-played video game franchises has not been added to the Gaming Legends Series of cosmetics so far.

One concept artist remedied this perceived oversight in stunning fashion.

Peely is on the run from enemies before he has to come to an abrupt stop. He looks on in surprise as Ash Ketchum from the main Pokémon anime series, complete with Pikachu on his shoulder, throws a Pokéball.

Out pops Charizard, who flies through the air and incinerates the truck that was chasing Peely. The Pokemon then returns to Ash's side for one of the coolest shots in Fortnite history.

Unfortunately, this is not a real trailer, but it is so well done that it looks like one. As of now, there's no Pokémon collaboration.

Could Fortnite ever cross over with Pokémon?

Fortnite is one of the most popular video games right now, but Pokémon is one of the most popular franchises of all-time. It's so popular it exists in three mediums: the games, the anime, and the trading card game.

As such, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Epic Games add it to their long list of collaborations. However, that would be easier said than done as none of the characters in Pokémon fit the mold of a Fortnite skin.

Bringing Ash Ketchum, Misty, Brock or anyone else to the game would require drastically changing their shape. This has been done before, with characters like Morty from Rick & Morty, but it's less than ideal.

Additionally, most of the most recognizable characters from the franchise are the Pokémon themselves. Charizard (seen in the fake trailer), Eevee, Pikachu, Lucario, and others, not everyone will fit the model for a Fortnite skin - the dimensions are way off.

The other issue is that Pokémon are the weapons. They don't need guns and carrying them would look incredibly odd. An Incineroar armed with a rifle or pickaxe would be a strange sight to see.

Thus, it would severely limit how much Epic can play with Pokémon licensing. They could do other things, though. A Pokéball item could be brought into the game, and Pokémon-themed back blings and gliders could also easily make their way into the Item Shop.

Charizard could be a flying glider in the same vein as Kurama from Naruto. Other Pokémon, like Eevee or Pikachu, could be the back bling as well.

Making skins would be difficult, but other cosmetic items could work. That limitation has been worked around before, namely with the Pac-Man or Among Us collaborations that brought in emotes and back blings only.

If Epic Games wants to bring Pokémon to Fortnite, they can. It just probably won't look like the concept trailer seen above.
