Fortnite Autograph concept is the perfect emote that Epic Games never thought of

Over the years, several concepts created by fans and artists alike have often found their way into Fortnite. The developers understand that adding fan-made or concept-made cosmetics into the game creates a win-win situation.

Artists earn revenue, and Epic Games can sell the final product in-game for V-Bucks. It creates a self-sustained ecosystem and brings the developers and community together. Speaking of which, a new concept emote called "Can I get your AUTOGRAPH?" has taken the community by storm.

While most concept artists try to capture the imagination by creating something unique or out-of-this-world, RicoMiranda76 took the simplest path.

Given how popular Fortnite is, it's not uncommon for players to run into semi-professionals/professionals, streamers, and content creators during matches. For the most part, aside from the odd screenshot, there's nothing to showcase as proof that players did meet someone popular/famous.

This is where the "Can I get your AUTOGRAPH?" concept emote comes into play. According to the creator, it will sync with other players and allow them to sign digital autographs in-game. It will be done on paper, which the user can flaunt later on. Here's what a few users had to say about the concept:

While interactive and synchronized emotes exist in Fortnite, this one will likely be the first of its kind. It would essentially allow players to leave their mark in-game forever.

How would the "Can I get your AUTOGRAPH?" emote work

Keeping the programming and coding part aside, it will likely work by allowing one player to leave a digital signature for the other. Only the person with the emote would be able to get an autograph, while the other user would only be able to sign. This would be the most logical route of design choice.

Users will likely be allowed to display one autograph at a time during a Fortnite match.

Given that this would be a simple signature, cramming the digital paper with more than one sign would look odd. On that note, it will have to be seen how the autograph will be created.

Since not everyone will be willing to share their Epic Games ID to use as a signature, a workaround will have to be implemented. This leads to more complexities in design and overall functionality. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be impossible to achieve the same. Given how complex some emotes can be in-game, this is rather rudimentary.

Lastly, the emote would have to feature a vaulting mechanic wherein users could store digital autographs for later use. It wouldn't make any sense if they only lasted for the duration of a match or two in Fortnite

However, it's very likely that the developers will add a limit to the number of autographs that can be stored at any given time. While this does sound bad, it would create a feeling of exclusivity for many. With all that said, it's left to be seen if the developers can take this concept emote into consideration and introduce it in the game.
