With 2023 already underway, the meta-outfit of choice is beginning to shift in Fortnite's Chapter 4 Season 1. With the medieval theme now taking root, players seem to be changing their cosmetic lockers accordingly.

Surprisingly enough, some skins that are hyped are not what players would expect. These outfits have somehow managed to stay relevant and remain popular, despite the fact that there are dozens of other skins to choose from. That said, here are 10 of the most hyped Fortnite skins in 2023.

Note: The statistics and popularity of each skin mentioned will likely change over the course of this year.

Selene and nine other hyped up Fortnite skins of 2023

1) Selene

As of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 update v23.10, Selene is the most hyped skin of 2023. Despite being a Battle Pass exclusive, roughly 4.14% of the playerbase uses this particular skin in-game. Considering that an additional style for this skin is also up for grabs through the Midseason Drops challenge, it's no wonder that she's trending right now.

That said, given that the skin truly does look amazing in-game, she will likely dominate the popularity charts for some time. All in all, she will likely remain a top 10 skin in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 as well.

2) Arctic Adeline

Arctic Adeline is a free skin that players could obtain during Fortnite Winterfest 2022. Although there's nothing special about it, roughly 2.7% of the playerbase makes use of this skin in-game. Based on feedback, the skin is slowly becoming classified as "sweaty," which may encourage more players to use it.

Given that this is an exclusive seasonal cosmetic, it will likely never be added to the Item Shop or introduced in-game ever again. That said, sometime in the future, a variant of this skin may be introduced as another freebie.

3) Chrome Punk

Chrome Punk became one of the most sought-after skins towards the end of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4. Since the outfit fit in perfectly with the 'Chrome' theme at the time, players were hellbent on claiming the cosmetic item by earning 50 Account Levels.

While it did take some time for players to unlock it in Chapter 3 Season 4, many got a hold of it in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. Sadly, like other freebies, this skin has been sent to the Vault as well. Given that Chrome Punk is already a variation of another skin, it will not be obtainable ever again. Presently, 2.28% of the playerbase has been using the skin in-game.

4) Doom Slayer

After months of teasing a potential collaboration with the franchise, Epic Games delivered an amazing crossover in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. The Doom Slayer is an exclusive Battle Pass skin and can be unlocked using Battle Stars after reaching level 26. He is part of the Ultra-Nightmare Set and features several different styles and additional cosmetic items.

That said, only 2.09% of the playerbase has taken a fancy to using this skin in-game. This is likely due to the fact that he's somewhat bulky, which makes him bad at hiding in plain sight. Then again, it all depends on how well players can utilize their skills to make the most of each match.

5) Spider-Gwen

After the major collaboration with Spider-Man kicked off in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, it was only a matter of time before other characters from the Spider-Verse were introduced to the game. While it did take some time, Spider-Gwen was eventually brought into the metaverse in Chapter 3 Season 4.

She is an exclusive Battle Pass skin, making her a somewhat rare outfit in the game. With numerous styles and the Arachrobatics emote, which lets the character dodge a few bullets, she's fairly popular within the community. Currently, 1.47% of the playerbase uses the skin in-game.

6) Nog Ops

When it comes to OG skins in Fortnite, Nog Ops is possibly one of the oldest to have ever been added to the Item Shop. This outfit was introduced during Chapter 1 Season 1 on December 16, 2017 and is considered to be one of the first Winterfest skins created for the game.

Following her return to the Item Shop during Winterfest 2022, players jumped at the opportunity to purchase the skin. Given her OG status, adding her to the cosmetic locker is a dream come true for many players. At present, 1.31% of the playerbase utilizes the skin in-game.

7) Dusty

Although Dusty is a part of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass, only 1.25% of the playerbase uses her skin in-game. This might be due to the fact that she's only unlockable after reaching Page 7 on the Battle Pass. Since it's fairly early on in the season, the majority of players have avoided grinding too much.

Dusty, on the other hand, is perhaps not as alluring as Selene or Doom Slayer. Nevertheless, by the time the season ends, Dusty will likely be more popular and climb up a few positions on this list.

8) Aura

By the looks of it, Aura will remain a popular skin until the end of Fortnite. Despite being introduced all the way back in Chapter 2 Season 2, the skin remains relevant in-game to this day. Approximately 1.12% of the playerbase uses the skin during gameplay.

Given the medieval theme and the color palette that's prevalent on the island right now, she seamlessly fits into this setting. Furthermore, considering that the skin is priced at 800 V-Bucks, it's a steal for most players that are looking for a slender/skin to min-max their competitive capabilities.

9) Sled Ready Guff

For Winterfest 2022, Epic Games gave players three free skins, one of which was Sled Ready Guff. Despite the winter season coming to an end, this outfit has remained quite popular within the community. This is especially true for players who cosplay as different variants of Guffs while playing with a squad.

On that note, 0.98% of the playerbase uses this skin in matches. While it's not a very large percentage, considering that the outfit is rather bulky in nature, having close to one percent of the playerbase using it is admirable to say the least.

10) Krisabelle

Krisabelle is a variant of Isabella, which was inspired by concept artist D3NNI_YT. The skin was a freebie for players who attended Winterfest 2021 all the way back in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. Even after a year, the skin has managed to remain relevant in-game.

According to the statistics, 0.87% of the playerbase continues to use the skin even in 2023. Considering that Sled Ready Guff is barely able to cross into the one percent hurdle, Krisabelle is doing rather well for herself in-game.
