Daryl Janmaat: Host of clubs monitoring the Dutch as he enters the last year of his contract

Manchester United will have to up their bid for Netherlands’ defender Daryl Janmaat to £7 million or risk losing out him.

The Old Trafford club have been tracking the right back, with concerns raised over the performances of Rafael, but the Daily Star report that the club need to up their original bid of £4 million.

Janmaat is in the last year of his contract but his club Feyenoord are determined to get a fair price for him and are demanding £7 million.

The player, who is managed by new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal with the international side, is also being tracked by Newcastle United according to reports.

Alan Pardew’s side are braced for the departure of Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal and are already looking at replacements, one of which is Janmaat and if United don’t sign him soon Newcastle are prepared to swoop.

The Netherlands are through to the semi finals of the World Cup where they will face Argentina and although Janmaat has missed the last two matches through injury he is insistent that his World Cup is not over.
