WATCH: Al Hilal fans chant Lionel Messi's name in SPL fixture against Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo was inundated with shouts of Lionel Messi's name during Al-Nassr's Saudi Pro League match against rivals and winners Al-Hilal on Friday, May 17. The fans have invoked the legendary Argentine's name in a bid to annoy the Portuguese legend since he moved to Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo and Messi have shared a long-time rivalry, spanning from their days playing against each other with Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. However, the last year saw the duo leave Europe entirely for other pastures. Ronaldo opted for the Arabian kingdom, while Messi has found a new home in Miami.

Although they now play in different leagues and on different continents, this hasn't stopped rival fans from being as annoying as possible towards Cristiano Ronaldo. As they have often done in recent games against Al-Nassr, Al-HIlal fans opted to chant Lionel Messi's name, as can be seen in the video below:

Inter Miami make plans to line up Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

According to a report by Marca, Miami-based MLS franchise Inter Miami are looking to line up with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The pair have been hailed as the best players in recent history, with some suggesting they are the greatest of all time.

The Barcelona and Real Madrid legends dominated football for over a decade, winning 13 Ballons D'or between them. The Argentine has won a record eight of them. The pair are also the biggest names in the world of football, with fanbases larger than many domestic leagues individually.

While they have been rivals for the majority of their careers, Inter Miami are reportedly looking to bring them together in their team. Both players are frightening goal scorers and global superstars, who could revolutionize the MLS hand-in-hand.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi playing on the same team will surely be a dream come true and would not be an impossible task to set up. David Beckham, co-owner of the Miami-based franchise has already brought the Argentine maestro to the club. His connection to Manchester United and Real Madrid could help him secure Ronaldo as well.

Fans will hope that the reports lead to a magical scenario that sees the two playing together. However, it remains to be seen if the reports will materialize into a potentially massive undertaking for the MLS.
