Rumour: Manchester United targeting Ajax left-back Daley Blind

Manchester United already have a second left-back targer in case a deal for Southampton’s Luke Shaw falls through in the form of Ajax’s Daley Blind according to The Mirror.

The 24-year-old put in a stellar performance for Netherlands in their 5-1 thumping of Spain and even assisted two goals.

Blind may be tempted to join Manchester United to re united with his national coach Louis Van Gaal and his current assistant Danny – who also happens to be the player’s father.

The Netherlands international, who can be acquired for around £12 million, would be a cheaper option than Southampton’s Luke Shaw who is valued at around £30 million by his current club.

Daley plays as a defensive midfielder for Ajax but was originally a left-back and can return to his preferred position at Manchester United.

Blind, who was recently named as the Dutch Footballer of the Year, would be an excellent addition to Manchester United.
