Higuain claims Mourinho wants him at Chelsea

According to reports from Spain, Higuain has stated that Jose Mourinho still wants him and has asked him to sign for Chelsea. With Arsenal seeming to have lost the chase to land the star striker, what with Madrid upping the asking price, these latest quotes from Higuain provide a new twist to the plot.

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Higuain stated, “Mourinho wants me there,” in reference to Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge.

This will come as a bit of a surprise as Mourinho has explicitly stated that their only target for the summer was Rooney and nobody else. It could turn out that this was nothing but a smokescreen as it is a known fact that Jose is a fan of Higuain, having used him regularly at Madrid.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
