FC Twente coach gets tooth knocked out in goal celebration

The two men involved in the rather bizzare sequence of events, on the right is the manager Jansen, and on the left his assistant, Mulder.

Most people would be happy after their team has scored a goal, but not Michel Jansen this past Saturday.

Jansen, who is the Twente Enschede manager had his tooth knocked out by his assistant as they were celebrating a goal.

Twente were playing Ajax Amsterdam at home and the home side took the lead early. That goal prompted the crazy sequence of events that led to Jansen being delivered a heavy punch that had a knockout effect for his teeth.

Youri Mulder, the assistant, accidentally caught his manager in the mouth while doing a fist pump in celebration.

“Youri celebrated rather excitedly,” Jansen told reporters.

The match only got worse for Jansen after that as he not only faced with sitting through the match in obvious pain, but he also saw his side concede a late equalizer to Ajax to finish the match at 1-1 and take only a point from the game.
