The Hague - Dutch international Jordy Clasie has agreed to extend his contract at Feyenoord by one year to the middle of 2016, the Rotterdam based club has announced.

The current contract of the 21-year-old midfielder runs out in 2015. The five-time Dutch international will sign the new deal in the forthcoming weeks.

“It means a lot to me to continue longer at Feyenoord,” said Clasie. “I have played for this club now for fourteen years, including two years in the first team. Those years were fantastic. I’m really enjoying myself in this team and we have been performing well. I want to win trophies next season with the club.”

Clasie is a product of the youth academy of Feyenoord. During the 2010/2011 season he played on loan for Excelsior and made his debut in the Eredivisie. In the last two seasons, Clasie has played 66 Eredivisie matches for Feyenoord, in which he has scored five goals.
