F1 pundit claims Charles Leclerc and Fred Vasseur will be focused on avoiding collisions at the 2023 Monaco GP. The Monegasque driver made a mistake in Miami's qualifying session, resulting in a P7 start.

Leclerc's 2023 campaign has not gone in a favorable way, having scored only one podium so far in Baku. The Ferrari driver is currently nowhere in the drivers' standings compared to his rivals Red Bull and Max Verstappen.

Last year, the team sacked Mattia Binotto in favor of Fred Vasseur, who was brought in to help take the team back to the top. However, the 2023 season has so far been dismal for the Scuderia team.

Given all the media babble around him, Peter Windsor hopes Charles Leclerc and Fred Vasseur can put their heads down and focus on the task at hand, which is getting a good result in Monaco. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Windsor said:

"I will be fascinated to see how Charles and Freddie Vasseur go into Monaco and how they handle Monaco. Because regardless of how bad the Ferrari is - or good or mediocre it is - Charles will be quick around Monaco."
"The question is, stopping him hitting anything and getting him on the pole and obviously winning the race. Part of that is Freddie's responsibility, in my view".

Charles Leclerc believes Fred Vasseur is the right man for Ferrari

Charles Leclerc expresses confidence in his new team boss, Fred Vasseur, believing that the Frenchman has the ability to lead Ferrari back to the pinnacle of the sport. Vasseur joined the team at the end of 2022, following the departure of Mattia Binotto.

Although Vasseur's tenure at Ferrari did not begin as ideally as hoped, with the team's 2023 car, the SF23, struggling to match the performance of Red Bull's RB19, which has emerged as the dominant force this season.

Nevertheless, Ferrari achieved their first podium of the year when Charles Leclerc fended off a charging Fernando Alonso in Baku. However, the team was nowhere compared to the front runners next time around in Miami.

Charles Leclerc firmly believes that Vasseur is the right person to guide Ferrari back to success. While he refrains from drawing comparisons to former team boss Jean Todt, the Monegasque driver has complete trust in Vasseur's abilities.

Speaking to AS, Charles Leclerc said:

"I don't want to compare Fréd with Jean Todt, or me with Michael Schumacher, because it wouldn't be correct. But that's what we want to achieve with Fréd. Do I think that with Fréd I will be able to win a World Cup? I sincerely feel that he is the right person to bring Ferrari back to front."

With big upgrades being introduced by Ferrari shortly, it will be interesting to watch the Monegasque climb his way to the top.
