I don't respect Lewis Hamilton: Adrian Sutil

Force India driver Adrian Sutil has not forgiven his former friend Lewis Hamilton and still feels that the Briton has cheated him.

Sutil, who got into trouble after an incident in a nightclub in Shanghai in 2011, had expected the former World Champion to serve as a witness in the trial, as reported by ESPN F1.

However, Hamilton never made his appearance in the trial and Sutil was convicted for physically assaulting Lotus executive Eric Lux. Sutil was barred from racing in Formula One for a year following the incident.

When asked whether all is well between him and Hamilton, the German replied:

“No, no. For some reason he never contacted me again. He always said he is my friend but he wished to suddenly disappear, he changed his number. I saw him in the paddock and he always said, ‘yeah, we can sit down and talk about it’, but he never arrived.”

Indicating that he has lost the respect he had for Hamilton, Sutil added:

“So these kind of people I don’t really respect, I respect him as a sportsman here, but in private he’s not on my level and I don’t need to waste time with those people. I’m happy I realised what kind of person he is.”
